Hotel Alt-Ringlein

Uriges, sympathisches kleines Hotel in historischem Gemäuer in denkbar zentralster Lage am Fuße des Dombergs, vom Bahnhof zu Fuß ca. 20 Minuten - es gibt aber auch eine Parkgarage; wohnliches, im Landhausstil mit viel Naturholz eingerichtetes, sehr gepflegtes und sauberes Zimmer mit kostenlosem Mineralwasser - zwar ohne AC, aber ein Ventilator sorgte für ein akzeptables Klima (bei gut 30 Grad Außentemperatur). Freundliches Personal, ganz hervorragendes, vielseitiges Frühstück, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Eine Lärmbelästigung in den Nachtstunden durch die vielen umliegenden Gaststätten konnte ich nicht vermerken.

The hotel is located opposite the famous “Schlenkerla” restaurant, in the middle of the old town and directly below Bamberg Cathedral. The location is great if you don't want to travel by car. It takes around 25 minutes to walk from the train station. The cathedral is up a flight of stairs behind the hotel and it is just a few steps to the old town hall. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel, other restaurants and lots of cafes and shops right outside the door. Guests at the Schlenkerla can make it louder from the street in the evening. However, the restaurant closes at 11:30 p.m. You should also know that the Hotel Alt-Ringlein is closed from 12 to 3 p.m. and check-in is not possible (you will be informed after booking). Room was large, bathroom with opening window, shower, heating, hairdryer. Carpeted room. WiFi works great (free). A bottle of mineral water free of charge. Breakfast (7 a.m. to 10 a.m.) offers everything you need. Nothing outstanding, but absolutely ok with various bread/rolls, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, juices. Not so great: The breakfast room is uncomfortable. You can only find the socket by the bed if you pull the bedside table from the wall.

The hotel is in the middle of the old town and perfect for strolling through Bamberg. You can even reserve a parking space. The rooms are good according to our expectations and very suitable for a stay. Clean and big enough. If you want it to be quiet because you don't want to take part in the evening hustle and bustle, this is the wrong place! Otherwise everything perfect. The lady at the reception should be mentioned, she is not fazed and appears very professional. So again and again!
