What a gem of a place! My travel plans got a little messy, so I wasn’t able to sleep there, but did make it just in time for a delicious breakfast and a little walk around the grounds. The couple I am traveling with had dinner and stayed the night and were very comfortable and well taken care of. We enjoyed talking to Mary about her raising her family in the home and stories of kids swimming in the creek and living the country life. The creek running through the property is the perfect background for relaxation after a long day of traveling or hiking. While we didn’t experience it, other guests said there were great trails within walking distance. The road from Clonmel was tight and a little scary when other cars came on, but was picturesque, with mama sheep and baby sheep on the road. I would have loved to stroll along that road …

Spent one night at Hanoras Cottage. After checking in we enjoyed tea and home made cakes - after a long journey, it was just perfect. The place is spotless, we were in room 9 which was spacious and had a jacuzzi bath. Dinner was amazing, with all courses cooked to perfection. Chowder, beetroot salad, sea bass with scallops were all cooked to perfection. Cheeseboard with the most amazing chutney was the perfect end to our meal. There is a small bar in the seating areas where we enjoyed after dinner drinks. After a restful sleep we enjoyed an amazing breakfast. Such a selection of fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice etc etc … and the quality and freshness of the food was 5*. Mary ensures that her guests are comfortable and enjoying their stay. Whilst this hotel is located in a quiet area, it was perfect for a relaxing break. It’s been sometime since we both had such a perfect stay - thank you

Just arrived home from yet another wonderful night away in Hanorahs Cottage. A warm welcome from Mary and staff on arrival with a pot of tea and home made cakes. Dinner last night was top class with great choice for all tastes. Met another lovely couple from Cork so we sat in the lounge area for a couple of drinks after dinner. Breakfast this morning was fabulous with such an array of fruits, homemade breads, cheese, porridge and a full Irish breakfast. We bought a lovely Christmas hamper on our departure and lots of advice from Mary about the wonderful walks in the Comeragh mountains. This is without a doubt one of the nicest Bed and breakfast guest houses in the country. Would highly recommend it for the beautiful locally produced food, gorgeous location and the warmest of welcomes. Well done Mary, Eoin, Judith and staff.

As always my trip to Hanoras Cottage was amazing. The room, jacuzzi bath, attention to detail makes this haven my favourite place to stay. The selection and quality of the food is unbelievable. I have never had a bad meal here, but for me the breakfast always steals the show. The selection of fresh fruit, homemade breads, chutney and jams are divine. The porridge is delight! However, as delectable as the food is, it is the staff and service that makes any visitors to Hanoras Cottage return again and again. The wonderful staff cannot do enough for you and the attention they give each guest is so lovely. Mrs Wall and her dedicated and competent staff are well worth a visit. I have already booked my return visit and I can’t wait!!!

We had an excellent family dinner at Hanora’s Cottage. It has a beautiful setting in the Nire Valley. We received a warm welcome and were seated in the very comfortable lounge area to consider the menus. It’s a very relaxing old world environment with a very traditional Irish hospitality feel. Menu had plenty of choice and the food was excellent and very nicely presented. Portions were generous. The wine list had good variety. Service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Value for money was exceptional, best we’ve seen in Ireland for a long time. There’s no fuss or rush and we enjoyed our dinner at a leisurely pace. Would highly recommend.

I and my friends spent a wonderful two nights in Hanora's Cottage. Our stay began with a warm welcome from Mary who was extremely helpful to us throughout our stay. The house is beautifully located and has loads of outdoor seating where you can sit and enjoy the surroundings. The choice and quality of the food was exceptional. No five star hotel that I have stayed in has equalled the breakfast that was on offer. The dinner menu provided great choice and everything was cooked to perfection. Hanora's Cottage is a perfect location for hill walking. Mary was extremely helpful to us, from advising us on trails to providing us with hiking poles, haversacks, water flasks and a packed lunch. The bedrooms are nicely decorated, spacious and spotlessly clean. Everyone working there were so warm, friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. Eoin and Judith in the kitchen who prepare the beautiful food and Ina and Louise who provided great service in the dining room all ensured we had a memorable stay. I even returned home with two pots of homemade jam that was made on site. Hugh thanks to Mary, Eoin and Judith I will certainly be back.

We spent the August Bank Holiday (Ireland) in Hanora’s Cottage and loved it! This is a super getaway for so many reasons. The atmosphere is warm and homely and nothing is a problem. The food is amazing and we have never experienced a breakfast quite like this one. A spread of any fruit you can think of, cereals, cheeses, smoked salmon, avocado, homemade bread and cake selection, freshly squeezed orange juice etc etc , all accompanied by a cooked breakfast. The dinners were fabulous with a varied selection and generous portions, accompanied by a great wine selection. The location is remote but all the more special for it. Network connection/ WiFi is scant but enough to survive. We were able to park 5 mins away and reach the most beautiful hikes and we also cycled to Kilmacthomas on the Waterford Greenway by renting bikes in Dungarvan- 25 mins away. Mary who is a wonderful hostess is wonderful and was accompanied by the absolutely lovely and efficient Ina, Ann, Emma and Louise over the weekend. Thank you all so much. We will definitely return.
