We had a spa day at the Chill Spa. The spa is fabulous and the amenities are great. The prices however are getting a bit high. The package we went for was €270 in January, an increase of €26 since last year, which is okay as most items in Ireland have had an increasein the last 12 months. Last year it was €244 (last February), so an increase of €26. However, we just went to book again and see its now gone up to €285 since last month. That's another €15. If the prices keep going this way it's unfortunately not going to be value for money. That's two increases in 12 months at 18%!!

We recently stayed for 2 nights on our mini moon and told the hotel on booking and on checking-in that it was a very special stay but they did nothing to personalise it or to mark the occasion for us which was very disappointing. The spa was a lovely experience and the hot tubs and baths overlooking the River Moy are well worth it. Dinner was also delicious. The hotel's outlook over the River and forest beyond is beautiful but the level of customer service you receive and the rooms themselves are fairly standard and we didn't feel that our stay justified its c. €1200 cost and left feeling a bit ripped off. My advice would be come to the Ice House for dinner/ a spa day but don't stay.

Lovely venue, rooms built into a riverside walk. A lovely boutique Hotel that nestles seemlessly into the environment around. Views to die for. Impressive restaurant menu with quality service. Each room with it's own piece of custom art.

I'll start with the positives. Great location, beautiful clean room & hotel, friendly & helpful staff. Lovely Spa facilities. Food: Warm food on cold plates...completely unacceptable. My partner & I both ordered pork belly to start(a warm dish) , it was served on cold plates so by the time we were a few mouthfuls in, it was all cold. It took away from how nice the actual dish was. We both had steak for dinner. It was perfectly cooked(meduim) but the cut of meat wasnt good and lacked any seasoning. This was served with bland steamed vegetables. For €40.00 a steak one would at least expect to have a choice of seasoned onions & mushrooms to accompany it. Overall, as much as the hotel itself was nice, the food let it down big time.

Stayed for two nights in December 2024 in Leaf. Guards and ambulance called to the room next door to us due to a serious incident. Would appreciate if the general manager could respond to either of our two emails to discuss our concerns…..:.,

Myself and my daughter were looking forward to 2 nights at the Ice House and had booked Spa treatments for us both. Check in was very friendly and I was aware that we had to settle the account in advance so I paid for accommodation, the two spa treatments and Afternoon tea with Prosecco. I was advised that the final bill would be put under my door the morning of checkout and could be settled on departure. We ate in the bar the first night, it was quiet enough as we ate early but I still had to look for someone to take our order. The food was nice and arrived before the cocktails! Spa treatment next day was very nice, a pool would be a nice extra but we knew beforehand that there was no pool. We had the afternoon tea which was served at the requested time, but again I had to ask for the Prosecco and was initially served only one glass - I had booked and paid for 2. That evening we ate in the restaurant which was fine but again we had to ask for water. Note, all extras (gratuities, drinks, meals) were paid by cash. I was amused, therefore, the morning of leaving to find a charge of €3 outstanding on the bill. I can only assume that the check in calculations were out by this amount as I know there were no extras to be added to the bill, I was even more surprised when I was asked for the €3 which I paid, but after spending about €1000 for 2 nights I left feeling quite disenchanted.

Hotel is in a lovely location, very impressed with staff, all very friendly. Enjoyed time in spa area but surprised by additional charge, Also expected that hotel would have a swimming pool. The cocktails were great and dinner was lovely, disappointed by breakfast options, hubby expected a traditional fry. We were pleased with the size and view from our bedroom, the bed was very comfortable.
