We stayed with you on 15th and 16th of July in a double room Overall this hotel is "adequate". Room The room was fine, of course the view was beautiful but to our horror when we opened the window to allow in fresh air instead we received smoke and fumes from guests on the balconies beside us and under us who were smoking and vaping. This is very unusual in this day and age when most hotels only allow smoking outside the building. I raised it with reception who seemed unsure about what they could do. Breakfast The cold buffet breakfast was sparse and uninteresting. It reminded me if a continental breakfast in a low priced guest house in Blackpool. We ordered pancakes and on both mornings they were hard instead of fluffy. I guess they had been microwaved or left under the heat too long. They were the first pancakes I ever had that had a crust around the edge Dining Toom Staff could not have been more friendly but appeared to be under a lot of pressure. If we asked for anything slightly out of the ordinary, such as scones and tea at 4pm, they seemed to panic before making it happen. Building and outside spaces The photos attached speak for themselves. The patio off the dining room was grubby with bird poo on the furniture. This should be wiped clean when required. It wasn't wiped for the two days I was there and when I pointed it out to staff they said "I know" but didn't do anything about it, nor the litter and cigarette butt's around that patio area. The patio area upstairs and the general upkeep of the exterior was also grubby and not representative of the luxury boutique hotel I had expected. Spa Deirdre is a delight and best thing about our stay. Before posting this review I sent it directly to the Hotel but they didnt reply.

Stayed for a birthday and anniversary treat. Would rate this hotel as the best we’ve ever stayed in in Ireland. Really luxurious with excellent staff. Have been to spa previously and enjoyed being welcomed back .Definitely be coming back would recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious stay

Spa was beautiful, the outside tubs/and relaxation rooms are unique. A must visit to experience, never experienced a thermal experience like it. The bedoom was basic, no wow factor, a little drab despite the views. Coffee machine was awkward to use/ filling up the water tank. Chocolates had a taste on them, might be stored next to the laundry things/soap. We had afternoon tea, priced at 35 euros, which is the same as lough eske in Donegal, so that's what we compared it to. It did not really live up to it. Scones were tiny, the cream was just whipped, not clotted, and the cucumber sandwiches had hard edges, they were not made up freshly at the time. There was also 3 hairs/fibres on the crockery/ plate/ butter dish. It was painful on check out to have to pay our extra invoice on our bar meal when it was also basic. Chicken goujons did not have a nice crispy crumb, and tasted no sesame as stated on the menu. Needs refinement and small details are overlooked.

We got engaged at the end of June and booked a night in the Ice House Hotel. Prior to arriving I got a personalised phone call from Deidre who took the time to ensure the room was prepared with any additional touches required. We are still talking about it! Breathtaking views through floor to ceiling windows on the first floor, the most amazing spa and quality Irish hospitality. The room was large, a comfortable gorgeous bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast cooked to order in the morning is always a sign of class. Just one question- is there a loyalty program??? Will definitely be frequent visitors of this beautiful hotel

Loved it here. Very relaxing, great food. Lovely staff, overall totally enjoyed our 2 days here. Lovely part of Ireland. Definitely worth the trip. A hidden Gem, in the north west. Very centrally located, in wonderful surrounding by the River.

a great stay in the Icehouse but too short! hotel is extremely clean and welcoming. room was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. as far as i know, all rooms have wonderful view overlooking the river and lets you feel very much in the countryside. as a spa hotel, supplied lovely robes and slippers and not looked at (too) strangely if just wander around in those. great breakfast with plenty of hot / cold choice. we also had dinner and again was delicious with good choice. perhaps a touch pricey but given service and surroundings still good value. the spa is a must visit even if you are short on time (as we were) and can only use the myriad of spa facilities (outdoor hot tub and baths, ice bath, steam room, sauna, relax rooms, tropical showers etc). all clean, fresh and several with views again overlooking the river. we booked a little last minute so was a little more expensive but overall still great value.

Went to the Ice House with my wife for my second time and we loved it. The staff are very helpful, saunas and hot tubs are class and wonderful place to relax for a few days while exploring Ballina and Mayo.

We stayed at The Ice Hotel in July for my partner’s 30th birthday and had a really lovely time. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the spa was a real highlight – relaxing treatments and a great thermal suite. A special touch was the dessert plate and birthday note left in our room – such a thoughtful surprise. The spa team also kindly offered us a later check-out so we could make the most of our time in the thermal suite. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view. Overall, it was a great stay and we’d definitely return.
