We rented two rooms last month and had a great stay. The owners are lovely and chatty in the best way. The room was comfy and the complementary short bread cookies made there were the best ever! I could’ve eaten a whole container they were that good. The breakfast was a real treat and one of the best of our stay. The location is great, smoke parking, too.

This place was by far the best b & b that I have stayed at. The owners very really friendly and helpful. The place was beautifully clean and had everything laid on in the bedroom that one would need. The breakfast was delicious with us asking for crispy bacon which was provided and to top it all we were given a bag of freshly baked goodies to take away with us.

Best B&B in Ballater The best B&B we have ever stayed in . Helen and Kevin couldn’t do enough for us. We arrived early with the brakes gone on our car. They let us store our luggage while we went to the little garage in the village. Who I must say that although they were very busy said they would repair it ready for picking up the next day. The Auld Kirk itself was absolutely amazing steeped in history , the decor was down to a fine tune it just took your breath away . The room was so clean the housekeeper was also lovely . I arrived cold and let’s just say that’s another story but the Auld Kirk will know what I mean. You had everything you needed. Breakfast was another extremely high standard and nothing like we have had before. Helen is the most amazing cook and you had an afternoon tea setting for breakfast, with homemade pastries , along with fresh fruit which included a beautiful bowl of fresh strawberries and other fruit, plus cereals and a cooked breakfast. I cannot rate the place high enough if ever you are in Ballater you must stay here .

Très originale chambre d'hôte dans une ancienne église réaménagée dans le charmant village de Ballater. Emplacement idéal pour du tourisme dans cette région. Chambre bien meublée et confortable, salle d'eau suffisamment grande. Accueil du maitre de maison très chaleureux. Petits déjeuners servis à table, parfaits.

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful old church. Rooms really comfortable and well equipped, thoughtful extras provided, beds even more comfortable! Slept very well. Kevin and Helen are very welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic. Freshly cooked and home made pastries. Thank-you, we would love to return!

The owners Helen and Kevin are amazing people and took a lot of time to chat and answer questions. The Auld Kirk was the best part of our Holiday. The rooms are large and well furnished. The bathrooms are completely updated and luxurious. The included breakfast was easily worth 30 pounds per person. We can’t recommend more.

Wow wow wow. We have stayed in 10+ places on our trip and the Auld Kirk was easily the best. Wonderful hospitality from Kevin and Helen, very unique building with tons of charm and character, great food and very modern conveniences (bathroom/shower, coffee etc). If you’re even thinking about it just book this place.

Thank you Helen and Kevin for your hospitality. It was a joy to stay at your B & B. Nice touch to have a few complimentary drams in our room. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent, even including delicious home made scones. Highly recommended.
