Scam artists. Just adding my name to the people here who were nearly scammed by these people. Please beware these awful people who promise you the sun, moon, and stars when you’ve won their ‘lottery’. Don’t go to either hotel with them. It’s an out and out scam!

Do yourself a favour and stay well clear of this bunch of scamming thieves. We were unfortunately talked into a membership at the Bay resort to only be told when we returned a year later we'd been actually sold a package to the beach resort that we had no idea even existed at that stage. We certainly were never shown it. We were tickled with all these promises of island resorts and Seminyak villas we could use only to be told now we have no access to any of them and asking around the pool there are all these blow ins when it's supposed to be member only. To top it off it's 3 star at best anyway.

My wife and I were recently caught up in a high-pressure timeshare sales presentation at Peninsula Bay Resort in Bali. We were convinced to put down nearly $7,000 for a timeshare supposedly worth $22,000, based on what we now know were completely false promises. The salesperson, Mark, told us repeatedly that we’d be able to book unlimited extra weeks at resorts around the world for just $350. That was the main reason we decided to go ahead. We were told this would be available through their partner platforms like Interval International and 7Across. But after following up, we discovered this simply isn’t true — and the Peninsula Beach resort itself is not even priced that way. Mark blatantly lied. To make it worse, they’ve since denied our refund, even though nowhere in the contract does it state that the purchase is non-cancellable. After we pushed further, they even cut off our Interval International membership without telling us. That alone speaks volumes about how dishonest the entire operation is. We’re a young family living a nomadic lifestyle with a toddler and another baby on the way. For us, this wasn’t just a vacation thing — it was meant to be a smart investment in travel and family planning. Instead, we’ve been completely taken advantage of. We’ve had no communication, no help, and no action — just silence and avoidance. We’re asking for our money back minus the small fee to 7Across. That’s it. If they don’t resolve this, we’ll be leaving reviews everywhere and sharing our experience as widely as possible to prevent others from getting scammed like we were.

🚩SCAM SCAM SCAM🚩 Approached by a man in Kuta, said we "won the 1st place prize" promo. Told us to go to the resort to collect our *winnings*. But it's just a timeshare scam and total waste of time. I don't understand why they're destroying their business with this ridiculous bs as you can see from all the other 1-star reviews.🤦AVOID!

★☆☆☆☆ – Scam Alert at Peninsula Resort Nusa Dua: Avoid Like the Plague If you’re handed a glossy scratch-card like this in Bali claiming you’ve won a "1st Prize" — RUN. It’s a well-worn scam disguised as a promotion for the “VIP Peninsula Club” or “Peninsula Resort Nusa Dua.” I received this exact flyer saying I had won one of three prizes: cash, a luxury holiday, or an iPad Mini 6. It looks legit at first glance, complete with QR codes, flashy pictures, and promises of “no cost or obligation.” But here’s the reality, more fool me for being so gullable: ➡️ You "win" every time. Literally everyone is a "1st prize winner." It’s a bait to lure tourists into a high-pressure, hours-long timeshare presentation. ➡️ You don’t actually get a real prize. At best, you might get a cheap souvenir or discount voucher — nothing remotely close to what’s advertised. We however got nothing as there is noone available to show us around! ➡️ You’re trapped. Your free transfers back to where you were picked up from are actually chargeable, I argued with my driver and refused to pay! This isn’t just misleading — it’s predatory. It targets unsuspecting tourists who are just looking to enjoy their holiday, and turns their time into a sales ambush. If someone hands you this flyer on the beach, near a market, or at your hotel — tear it up and walk away. Better yet, report it to your hotel front desk or local authorities. Don’t let your Bali dream vacation turn into a regretful time-suck.

I was last staying in this hotel in November 2023. It is a good hotel, however we paid 15k for a membership, which we thought would give us priority for accommodation and treatment. Do not be a fool and pay for this membership as you can get the accommodation for $300 a week more than we pay without having to pay the membership. You even get less benefits I.e. no inclusive breakfast etc You also have to book at least six months in advance, as a member, just to get a room. We don’t always know if work will allow for this advance booking. In addition, when I purchased the membership we were informed that only members can stay in the four Peninsula owned accommodations, which is not true as I asked other guests staying there and they were not members.

Overall Experience I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel after trying a few other options. That said, the hotel operates as a membership club, and you are approached by a marketing company. Unfortunately, their approach can come across as a "scam", relying on a "poor me" and secretive narrative. While I understand that marketing strategies are part of the business, I do believe there must be a more genuine, transparent way to handle this. Thankfully, once I arrived and started interacting with the sales team, the staff and other members, the hotel quickly felt like a second home, and the overall experience turned out to be very positive. I also want to commend the hotel for their exceptional landscaping efforts. The team goes above and beyond to maintain and clean countless pools, as well as tackling the challenging task of clearing the reflux debris from the mangrove reserve and the surrounding ocean. It’s clear that they take environmental stewardship seriously, and their commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the area is truly impressive. Design and Aesthetic: As an interior designer with a background in tour operations, I’ve encountered a wide variety of hotel designs, and I have mixed feelings about this one. The furniture and artwork feel somewhat dated, reminiscent of the 90s, sitting awkwardly between modern and traditional styles. While the overall ambiance aligns with a 4-star property, there’s clear potential for a 5-star upgrade with some thoughtful design updates. That being said, the space still has a unique charm and provides a relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, having access to the Peninsula Beach Hotel (the sister property) is definitely a nice perk, offering more options for guests to enjoy. Cleanliness and Staff: The hotel’s cleanliness is outstanding, and I was thoroughly impressed by the staff. They were attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. Their level of service and attention to detail ( with daily motivation quotes left behind) truly enhanced the experience. Suggestions for Improvement: While the hotel offers a lot of positives, there are areas for improvement that could really help elevate the overall experience. Updating the furniture and incorporating more modern, local design elements would bring a fresh vibe to the space. I recommend working with a local designer, such as those at Ramayana Hotel, to introduce a more cohesive design. The hotel doesn’t need to embellish every wall, but focusing on what truly matters—creating focal points and a unified color scheme—could significantly improve the aesthetic without stretching the budget. Small, strategic changes can go a long way in creating a more modern and inviting atmosphere.
