We chose to stay at Gunung Paradis as it provided a refuge from the crowded tourist resorts. And indeed it is: the lush green gardens are filled with the sound of birdsong and leaves swaying in the breeze. The entire service was tailored to our needs: breakfast, dinner, visits to local attractions. The entire staff is extremely helpful, polite and kind, and with the right team, the whole experience becomes the best. The owners Karien and Jack of Gunung Paradis are the best hosts and if you decide to stay at Gunung Paradis you won't regret it.

Wauw, wauw, wauw! Gunung Paradis heeft onze verwachtingen meer dan overtroffen. Bij aankomst stond butler Sudi ons op te wachten aan onze kamer. Tijdens ons verblijf van 3 dagen (2 nachten) konden we altijd op Sudi rekenen! Hij was zo attent en behulpzaam. De deluxe-bungalow was een pareltje in dit resort: eten dat je wordt geserveerd op het terras aan je bungalow, omgeven daar een prachtige vijver, volledige keuken, salon, 2 uitgebreide badkamers met prachtige buitendouches, en heerlijke slaapkamers (met heel goede bedden). Wat kan je meer verwachten van je vakantie... Bovendien was de kokkin zich zeer bewust van wat ze kon koken voor onze dochter die glutenvrij moet eten en toverde ze voor iedereen de heerlijkste maaltijden. Het zwembad is ook een pluspunt: gelegen in de prachtige tuin, kom je zeker tot rust in/aan het zwembad. We ontmoetten eigenaars Karin en Jack, en we begrijpen nu ook perfect hoe Gunung Paradis Retreat deze kwaliteit kan bieden: Karin en Jack zijn heel vriendelijk, attent, gaan heel respectvol met hun gasten én personeel om. Ze hebben een mooie kijk op het leven. Prijs/kwaliteit was zeker een pluspunt. We zouden hier dus zo opnieuw boeken en Gunung Paradis ook iedereen aanraden.

5 people, 4 bedrooms, full kitchen, 2 dining areas, multipule lounge areas, pool, lush grounds and more. Fantastic. Relaxing and just plain beautiful. Detu looked after us so well. The gardener even climbed a coconut treet for us to have fresh coconuts. All kept nice and clean and too. This has become my new best place to goand relax. A short drive to the beach and shops etc. Massages will come to the villa, Just ask Detu and he will arrange just about anything you want. Marvellous stay

A hidden gem at Munduk, Northern Bali. This place has an atmosphere that cannot be more close to paradise itself. The magnificent view from the terrace to the rice fields, mountain tops and partly jungle are breathtaking. The facility is a colonial residence with modern equipment. The butler service is outstanding and the food as good as can be. A special note for probably the best Indonesian rice table they cooked for us. This is a place to visit for them who would like to find peace and reset themselves. Special thanks to Jack and Karien for their kindness and sharing this place with us.

Taking in the sights of rice terraces and hillsides when we, hairpin by hairpin, descend the ridges to arrive at Gunung Paradis Retreat. Beautifully located, overlooking the valley. Green, lush. Peaceful. We spent Ogoh Ogoh and Nyepi with Karien and Jack. They arranged a snorkelling trip to Menjangan Island for us and on the way back we were in the midst of all local Ogoh Ogoh parades. Nyepi was spent, together with the whole of Bali, in reflection, darkness and silence. Pampered by hosts and staff we had a fantastic time from beginning to end. If there was a “Paradise Lost” - by logic, there must be a “Paradise Found”. We think this is it.

Als je echt in een paradijs wilt zijn op Bali moet hier boeken! Bij aankomst wordt je ontvangen op een echte royal ontvangst bij de villa en krijg je echt de ene na andere verrassing, want hier kom je in een andere wereld terecht. Dit is een villa waar je onder de indruk komt van het gebouw, tuin en personeel. De personal butler die de gehele dag al je wensen vervult en zorgt dat al je maaltijden die je kan bestellen geserveerd worden. Dit alles onder genot van alle luxe die je maar kan wensen en de eigenaren Karien en Jack zorgen er ook voor dat je diverse trips in de omgeving kan maken. Deze locatie heeft mij echt verbaasd met deze service en dat dit mogelijk is voor deze prijs en dat alles goed onderhouden is. Dus zoek je een locatie met super service en uitzicht op het Balinese paradis met een super mooie en schone accommodatie dan is dit je paradijs.

From the moment we arrived at Gunung Paradis Retreat we were impressed by the incredibly welcoming and attentive staff, making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at Villa Jepun which was absolutely stunning – spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. We particularly appreciated the little touches, like drinking directly from the tap as the water came directly from a natural well. The facilities were top-notch. The massage was great and it was an incredibly relaxing experience. The food was outstanding as well. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and everything was fresh and delicious. The dinner menu was equally impressive, with several dishes to choose from. What really stood out for us was the hospitality. The staff, as well as Jack and Karien, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, from offering great local recommendations to accommodating our special requests. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is their top priority. We absolutely recommend Gunung Paradis Retreat!
