We chose to stay at Gunung Paradis as it provided a refuge from the crowded tourist resorts. And indeed it is: the lush green gardens are filled with the sound of birdsong and leaves swaying in the breeze. The entire service was tailored to our needs: breakfast, dinner, visits to local attractions. The entire staff is extremely helpful, polite and kind, and with the right team, the whole experience becomes the best. The owners Karien and Jack of Gunung Paradis are the best hosts and if you decide to stay at Gunung Paradis you won't regret it.

Als je echt in een paradijs wilt zijn op Bali moet hier boeken! Bij aankomst wordt je ontvangen op een echte royal ontvangst bij de villa en krijg je echt de ene na andere verrassing, want hier kom je in een andere wereld terecht. Dit is een villa waar je onder de indruk komt van het gebouw, tuin en personeel. De personal butler die de gehele dag al je wensen vervult en zorgt dat al je maaltijden die je kan bestellen geserveerd worden. Dit alles onder genot van alle luxe die je maar kan wensen en de eigenaren Karien en Jack zorgen er ook voor dat je diverse trips in de omgeving kan maken. Deze locatie heeft mij echt verbaasd met deze service en dat dit mogelijk is voor deze prijs en dat alles goed onderhouden is. Dus zoek je een locatie met super service en uitzicht op het Balinese paradis met een super mooie en schone accommodatie dan is dit je paradijs.

From the moment we arrived at Gunung Paradis Retreat we were impressed by the incredibly welcoming and attentive staff, making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at Villa Jepun which was absolutely stunning – spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. We particularly appreciated the little touches, like drinking directly from the tap as the water came directly from a natural well. The facilities were top-notch. The massage was great and it was an incredibly relaxing experience. The food was outstanding as well. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and everything was fresh and delicious. The dinner menu was equally impressive, with several dishes to choose from. What really stood out for us was the hospitality. The staff, as well as Jack and Karien, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, from offering great local recommendations to accommodating our special requests. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is their top priority. We absolutely recommend Gunung Paradis Retreat!

If you are looking for a getaway from crowded spots, somewhere where you would not feel the need to listen to music other than the hums, chirps, and murmurs of trees, birds, and nature, you've come to the right place. This retreat's garden truly is Paradise on Earth, and we loved spending our time here, starting from an abundant and slow breakfast, all the way up to after sunset. For breakfast, we enjoyed the Paradise special, and it was more than a person can eat, complemented with local Bali filtered coffee (although you can have other coffees as well). Breakfast is merely one of the many great services Gunung Paradise offers. Our kind host, Widi, was always there for us, whether to drive us, serve our meals, make our beds, or provide full room service. All of this exists thanks to two great hosts and individuals, Karien and Jack, who have shared with us local ceremonies, Balinese dinners, stories, and the history of Bali. A truly lovely, warmhearted experience.

This has been my best accommodation in Bali and it is difficult to know where to start. The setting is nothing short of spectacular with mountains and tropical forest and the views from everywhere are spellbinding. The rental villa is comfortable, furnished with great taste boasting traditional Balinese open roof bathroom. The grounds are also great, dominated by a huge swimming pool flanked by two dolphin sculptures and instead of canvas-made shade with lounging chairs, the owners planted a tree in the shape of a parasol: a marvellous touch. The owners, Jack and Karien were nost gracious and invited me for a traditional Balinese dinner and showed me their own villa which has many pieces of art (paintings and sculptures) created by Karien. And, as for the gigantic opne air bathroom, I think even Cleopatra would have been pleased! Last but not the least, the owners also assembled a gerat staff. The cook Koma is great and the butler Sudi also perfect. Thank you so much for your hospitality Jack and Karien.

In the heart of lush nature Gunung Paradise is calm and relaxing. Our host Karien was very attentive. As for the staff, a real pleasure. Thanks to Sudi for his availability, his concern for always understanding our request. He was an excellent guide to visit his village. Thanks also to Widi the manager for his availability. The exteriors of this hotel are very beautiful. Bedroom terrace overlooking a garden with an outdoor table overlooking (even if the noise from the road spoils the tranquility of the place a little, it is nonetheless very pleasant). The interior of the room (we were in a room and not in a villa which may explain this) is average, rustic. It deserves a refresh and a new decoration. We had an extra bed on which it was impossible to sleep because the springs were so hard. However, the bed was immediately changed the next day when we reported it. The hotel staff is at our disposal and very pleasant. There is no reception but a "butler" who comes from time to time to ask us what we want (I found it a little embarrassing or even intrusive to have a person arriving from the terrace without warning). We ate one evening at the hotel (note that there is no restaurant or warung within walking distance of the hotel) and we were very disappointed with the meal. It's relatively expensive for Bali and we ate better in all the warungs than here (maybe a stroke of bad luck because the reviews seem good on the hotel restaurant but we had 3 different dishes and we were all disappointed. Personally I had chicken and I only had fat). The second evening we preferred to eat products bought at the supermarket. Same for breakfast, average and not very generous (choice between two eggs/bread or 2 pancakes or local lunch + drinks and fruit)
