Good boutique hotel. Food was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable rooms, we stayed in a lovely bungalow. Need a few more sun lounges. We couldn't use the second garden pool as there was only 3 day beds and no sun lounge. Not many shops or restaurants in area so you need transport although we didn't mind. We wanted to relax BUT....disaster!
Unfortunately our experience was ruined by dogs barking all through the night on the four nights we stayed .Cockrals from 4.30am every morning. Also some locals hooning around on loud motocross motorbikes through the area day and night meant we did not have a peaceful holiday. It's such a shame as it really ruined our experience at this hotel and destroys the Balangan area. Unfortunately we won't return.

Our experience in la joya was fabulous.
Perfect cleaning, beautiful and very well maintained garden with beautiful pool.
The staff is very professional and kind.
Also the restaurant has great food.
The quality price for the resort is Fair!

La Joya Balangan is a great hotel to relax and unwind. Several pools for a quick refresher, ocean view and a short walk down to the beach. Sand is more like broken seashells and the riffs are quite sharp so I recommend some kind of reef shoes especially for the kids.
When the tide is in the water comes up all the way to the warungs at the beach. When the tide is out it reveals Little Rock pools perfect for playing with the kids.
The waves are good for learning to surf with one of the plenty schools at the shore.
The Spa at the hotel offers several treatments and is very nice.
Food and beverages are affordable for a hotel and good cuisine.
Yoga classes twice a day (extra costs)
And marvellous views for the sunsets in the evening right for the cocktail happy hour!

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel, the hotel area is well-groomed and beautiful, it has its own access to the beach, unfortunately the beach is dirty, there is a lot of garbage. We booked a deluxe bungalow, the bungalow itself is not bad, but only one air conditioner works and this is really not enough in the heat. There are many cracks in the bungalow through which cold air escapes and many insects fly in. On the one hand, it’s nice that you feel like you’re in nature, but on the other hand, it’s a little uncomfortable if you’re staying for more than one night. The worst thing was that we were given one of the last bungalows on the territory, the hotel territory is surrounded by a fence, and behind the fence there is a road on which bikes constantly growl and stray dogs bark, this made it very difficult to sleep, really!!! There are several such bungalows, which are next to the fence, so be careful when you move in))))

Generally speaking, it's OK. The most satisfying thing is the environment. I think the attitude of the waiter is very different. It happened to be one o'clock in the afternoon when we checked in. Two foreigners checked out. I also asked the waiter what time we can check out, and she Tell me before 12 o’clock in front of others 🙂 ! Do you understand how I feel? It’s not about that hour, it’s about being treated differently! I feel very uncomfortable! But in fact, when we stayed there for three days, we probably spent the most at the hotel among all the guests! But they are still treated differently! The service staff are very rigid! On the first night, I was too lazy to go to the front desk to book a floating breakfast, so I made a reservation with them on WhatsApp. Then the waiter had a very bad tone. I spent money to see how he looked? ? Really funny! ! Anyway, I won’t stay again!
