Overall poor experience: room was noisy due to aircon and minibar, soundproofing is bad, poor cleanliness, room is too bright, and customer service was very very poor.
1. Noisy: noise from mini fridge cannot be stopped unless you switch off the fridge, but it also means you cannot use it to put food or drinks to keep cold. Poor sound proofing and often awaken by guests from other rooms and guest at the corridor either talking or dragging luggage. Aircon is old and noisy, drips water too
2. Poor Cleanliness: many cockroaches found in the lower basement room, and experienced by other guests too which other guests commented as they walked past me. Also sheets found with various red and brown and yellow stains, and torn holes in pillow cases.
3. When I asked for compensation for being given a room with many cockroaches which it also crawled into my luggage (and yes I freaked out and screamed), I was told by two different staff that the best they can do is to arrange a transport to the airport or another hotel location. When I insisted for a monetary compensation, they said they can do if I shorten my stay and check out ‘now’ which they will refund the remaining nights (but not the stayed night with the cockroaches found in the room). I was told repeated times to check out to get the ‘refund’ even after I told them my option is not to check out now. Poor service recovery and service attitude. Thanks to Trip.com that helped me fight for at least a one night compensation in fee.
4. The rooms on ground floor does not have full length curtains. Room is very bright once the day breaks and is not ideal for a light sleeper like me.
