Mokko Suites Batubelig Reviews

When checking out of our accommodation (Mokko Suites Batubelig) we were asked to wait so that a hotel employee could do a ‘double room check’ with two hotel employees. We found this suspicious because it was the first time after 14 days of traveling through Java and Bali that a ‘double room check’ was done, during which we were explicitly asked not to leave yet. After a few minutes, the ‘room check’ showed that a small towel was missing. We were accused of stealing it and had to pay 55,000 IDR for it. Because we had to catch a flight and because our taxi was waiting, we did not have time to argue. We paid the amount to avoid further conflict, but are convinced that the hotel employees entered our room while we were out for dinner in Canggu. In the afternoon (after room cleaning) the towel was in the room. After our evening in Canggu the towel had disappeared. We find it very unprofessional to be accused of theft and for hotel employees to just enter our room. It is also a cheap trick to steal money from tourists. After the payment and when we walked to the taxi, we heard the two hotel employees laughing loudly. This hotel left us with a negative experience and is anything but recommended. They are scammers!
