Having had an excellent overnight stay here two or three years ago, when I was travelling alone, I always thought that I’d return if I was in the area again. So, when a friend and I needed a one night stay, close to Blackpool, it was an easy decision to stay here. Just like my first visit, this was a faultless stay. Check-in was quick and straightforward and our ground floor twin room, #06, was just perfect with a modern en suite that had an excellent shower with plenty of hot water, great water pressure and controls that were easy to operate, as well as decent complimentary toiletries. The beds were extremely comfortable, with good quality bedding and lovely soft pillows. The hospitality tray scored top marks for the ground coffee bags (which included decaf as well) instead of instant coffee which I detest. Breakfast was excellent (I especially loved the sausage!) with a decent choice of fresh, high quality items and hot food that was cooked to order. Staff were helpful and didn’t hurry us when we were late leaving the dining room due to chatting over our drinks. We both enjoy a leisurely breakfast and greatly appreciated being able to linger without feeling that we were an inconvenience. We also ate in the restaurant on the night of our arrival and had a lovely meal (sea bass for both of us). There’s free WiFi, plenty of car parking and, with prices that are exceptionally reasonable, this was a first class experience. The Bluebird Inn really is highly recommended.
