The hotel was in a good location, 10mins from sea turtles! The staff were lovely and very polite. The room for the most part was cleaned, however they did forget to clean the room and after a reminder on the Riu APP they came and cleaned it whilst we were at dinner. There is food in abundance .at the designated restaurant in the resort. However, when we arrived (around 10pm) from the airport we had no food options on arrival as the hotel does not offer room service and we had to wait until morning for a proper meal. The Spa was amazing! The beach was great. The entertainment was really good too

The hotel is large, the rooms are very nice, and the beach and swimming pool are very beautiful! It is convenient to include three meals, but the taste is not particularly suitable for Chinese people. Maybe because the hotel is too big and there are too many guests, the service feels a little lacking, but overall it meets my expectations. The beach is really beautiful!

The location and hotel facilities are great, awesome beach. Unfortunately I had stomach problems from the food provided at their restaurant, need to pay attention to hygiene. Was also surprised that they donβt provide amenities such as disposable slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush, these are basic things that can literally be offered anywhere, if itβs not in their policy best just to add the 1$ to the reservation price or have it in the stores inside their compound instead of letting visitors wander outside the hotel looking to purchase these goods .

The location of the hotel is very good, in the core area of tourism, there are various sea sports, and the white sandy beach is particularly beautiful
The ecological environment is very good. You can see all kinds of marine life when you catch the sea. I even saw a family of sea anemones and clownfish.
The disadvantage is that the room is relatively small and the facilities are relatively simple
It should be noted that we found the legendary man-of-war jellyfish on the beach, so be careful not to step on it

There are very few Chinese here, most Europeans. It is very big and beautiful. The rooms are also very large. There are balconies and bathtubs. The decoration style is very modern. There are more than a dozen houses without elevators. They are like a scenic spot, in fact they are. In this way, you should bring a bracelet after you come in. The facilities in the hotel and the swimming pool can be used. All meals are included, and unlimited drinks and beverages are included. It is a good place for leisure and vacation.

Very good resort. Facilities are top quality and well-maintained. Food was very yummy, although breakfast could offer more variety for a 5-star hotel (e.g. there was no smoked salmon for breakfast - I consider salmon to be standard at 5-star hotels catering to international clientele). Staff are well-trained and very professional. The resort also offers spa services as well as tour bookings, but we did not avail of these. For our travel dates the all-inclusive package on trip.com was by far the best value for money compared to booking directly or through any other website. One potential area for improvement is the provision of a mini rack on the balcony/veranda where guests can hang up wet clothes after a tour - would be a nice thing, which I've seen at some other resorts, as some guests just want their clothes to dry, not necessarily washed.

We spent a week at Kena Beach Hotel and we had a great experience. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond our expectations to help give us a good trip. The grounds and the rooms are beautifully maintained. I only selected the breakfast plan but I should have just done the full board. There were other places to go near by but Kena did a great job or rotating what was served for dinner and at lunch it was convenient and we did not feel like leaving the property. Having the dive center attached was really nice and we went on a few dives and snorkeling trips. Mnemba Island did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in this hotel for one week and sincerely it was my best experience. I made a huge hotel in several countries and it restored my favorite. It is a hotel of a human size whose staff and owner really take care of their clients, and that is whatever the time of day or night. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I thank Mr ALI in particular for having welcomed and taken care of making our stay pleasant, as well as his team MWINYI AND MWANTAMA, EMMACULETA, RAJAB (and its super pancakes), HASSAN, ABDULRAHMAN, and all the others I've not mentioned. I recommend it !

There are lots of really good things about the Lux Marijani. The location is superb with a nice long beach to walk along and beautiful views out to the ocean. The rooms are also really nice - they are big with double sinks and a really comfy bed. You can get beach towels easily, and water is available in your room and on the beach during the day. The food was also excellent. There were a couple of things that made our stay less good. The first was that we were on a room only package so we ordered our meals from the menu. Although the food was very good, we often had to wait a long time for the food to arrive. This was particularly frustrating in the mornings when we wanted to get going and our eggs on toast (which were lovely!) would take a long time to arrive. In addition, we were slowed down by the fact the bill they gave us to sign after each meal was often wrong. The amount in USD in the menus and the amount on the bill didn't align and the bill was always higher. They said this was because their system had been updated with new prices and the menu hadn't but it was a pain to get the bills corrected. If you're on a meal package or all inclusive this wouldn't affect you but was a pain on room only. We were on a 3 night stay and for the first 2 nights we had cold showers in our room. We raised it with 3 different people before it was finally fixed. A great shower on the last night but a bit frustrating it took 3 attempts to get it sorted. We were probably just unlucky with the shower and if we had been eating from the buffet the food experience would have been much better but it was a bit disappointing for us. Overall there are still a lot of positives for the Lux.

GGuest UserOur stay at the Zanzibar Queen Hotel was truly unforgettable. From the friendliest staff to the most delicious food - it truly exceeded our expectations. We did the Have It All offer and stayed in the beach front bungalow with plunge pool. When we arrived at our room we were blown away (the photos don't do any justice!). We were given a beautiful and delicious fruit plate as well as a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate our honeymoon. The room was very spacious, extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. The room had A/C, a french press coffee maker, kettle, tea, a mini fridge with soda and beer (which was included in our package), robes and slippers. Not all drinks and menu items were included in the Have It All offer but we found that there was more than enough items to choose from. The food was absolutely delicious. Every morning there was a breakfast buffet with pastries, fresh juices, coffee, tea, salads, fresh fruit and an egg station that also had waffles and french toast. Lunch was a la carte and there were plenty of options. Most dinners were served as 3 courses but one night there was a BBQ with a live band (SO much fun) and another night there was a Swahili dinner with drummers from different local tribes which was very cool! Yoga was offered at the hotel which we did most mornings. We also had excursions included in our offer - we did the sunset cruise, snorkeling trip and massage. The snorkeling trip was amazing and the massage was the best massage we've ever had. The sunset cruise was an experience but it wasn't really what we were expecting based on the description. We can't wait to come back!

AAna_stasiiaThe hotel is very nice, itβs very quiet though and doesnβt seem to be very popular among travels choice here. The room was spacious, and clean, the staff were very friendly. The WiFi was great. The breakfast was good. A few options for cereals and fruit , coffee and tea as well as options for cooked meals. The location isnβt bad but also not amazing. The beach directly in front of the hotel is not the main beach, thereβs a lot of seaweed but itβs only a 10 minute walk along the beach to the nicer beach area. 20 minutes of walking along the roads. Considering the price for what you get I think itβs overpriced but in all honestly so are all the other hotels on the island.

There is space, good food, great private beaches, 5 restaurants, friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere.
There were more sunbeds than guests when we stayed and towels are available poolside.
There are bars in the garden, by the beach and at the pool, which are all manned with waiters and bar staff who are happy and efficient.
The hotel has security and a private beach and the local tour sellers wait at the beach for you to engage.
If you walk straight into the sea from the resort you'll find starfish, urchins and Dory fish.
The room door we had wouldn't lock with a firm push and a couple times after the cleaners had been it was unlocked.
Overall though 9.5/10
I'd recommend for any special occasion, or for those who want to safari in Tanzania, or swim with dolphins in Mnemba.

AAndreasThe hotel is situated on a very nice white sand beach protected by a reef. There are urchins in the water, so wear beach shoes. The rooms are well-appointed and the breakfast buffet good, with a large selection of local fruits, eggs made to order, bakery goods and small choice of hot foods. Itβs very peaceful and their cocktails are nice to drink on the beachfront deck. We are all our meals at the hotel and the menu is just large enough to offer varied choices for a stay of a few days. There might be a kitchen hygiene issue though, as my friend had to vomit one afternoon and I was struck by diarrhea on my last day there.

Especially Nice on the front desk. She was extremely professional and supportive. We were facing some inconvenience but she solved on the spot and made our stay so comfortable and unforgettable. We really enjoyed and had a great time there. Highly recommend this hotel as a great option to stay! - amazing staff - great food (fresh bakery every morning :)) - Ocean view (unbelievable sunrise) - 2 nice pools

Sarah what a host! Such a lovely lady, itβs very reassuring as a solo female traveller to go somewhere so welcoming with lovely, friendly and kind staff! A small but cosy hostel. Very close to the beach also! I wasnβt the most comfortable going out alone but in the day there were a lot of people around and at night thereβs always motorcycles that sarah can arrange or taxis! The place was so clean, constantly being swept, beds being made, bathrooms being cleaned. Breakfast that was included was amazing! For the value of the stay breakfast included: omelette, toast, fruits, juice and tanzania donuts. Coffee and yea available too! The bed was very comfortable. The towels were decent size. The pillows were fluffy! Overall a fantastic stay, please ignore any and reviews :) I stayed here for 5 days alone and my friends stayed nearby

GGuest UserStayed @ Smiles Beach Hotel for 3 nights, 4 days. Meal plan was Half board (Breakfast & Dinner). Road Access The road to the hotel starts off ok, but towards the middle has HUGE pot holes and after a rain itβs completely filled up with mud. The driver has to move very slowly to avoid any damage to the car. On arrival On arrival we were greeted warmly with a nice cold drink, check in was quick and we were taken to our rooms. We booked 2 rooms. Both were located upstairs but not in the same building. To get to the rooms we have to climb a spiral staircase. Rooms The upper floor has 2 rooms side by side. The room door is a split door with a sliding lock and a padlock. There were a few outdoor furniture in the balcony area. The room itself looked very clean and smelled clean. Coffee & tea station, LCD TV, Mini Fridge, Safety deposit box. The bed is built into the room walls. The orientation of the bed is weird. I am an average height guy, 5β8β, and when I lie down to sleep, from my ankle down is off the bed. But if the bed was orientated the other way, there would be more than enough room. The rooms are old and needs some TLC, ceiling is wood and black dirt keeps falling from the cracks. We were told that the room service will come over around 7.30 at every night to βturn d ownβ the room. Technically, spray some bug spray outside the room door and setup the mosquito nets. From our 3 nights, this happened only on the last day. That too, the net had a 1cm hole. Bathroom Pretty large bathroom, basic toiletries available (No body lotion or dental kit). The toilets are clean. The sink is a little on the high side. If there are children, itβs a bit hard to reach to brush teeth etc. Garden, pool and private beach front Garden is kept very neat and tidy. We saw a gardener every morning sweeping the grounds. Pool is clean. The tiles on the outside of the pool were cracked and need to be careful while walking. Especially with bare feet. Private beach front is nice and clean. Its, on a higher elevation so you get a nice view. Hawkers and Masai beach boys The are friendly, but can become a bit annoying after some time. So best advice is to be polite, say no thank you. (they are not allowed in the private beach area) Food & Restaurant Breakfast was not bad, itβs a buffet style menu and had a decent variety, each morning something different. Sometimes in the morning there a few flies around and will hover over the fresh fruit. Dinner was a la carte menu and different for each day as well. The downside is that the food quality drops when they have more occupancy. The biggest issue we had was the meal service times. We had to wait almost 1 hour between entree and main and another 45 min for dessert. This was the case every day. There are few felines (cats) inside the restaurant premises. They roam freely and sometimes come and rub themselves on your legs. There were a few other guests that were not very comfortable with this. Als

Great accommodation located directly on the beach, and the staff is very friendly, helpful, and welcoming! I stayed on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfy, and the room has AC. The food at the restaurant is tasty. It is very easy to book activities at the reception! They have a brochure with activities. The girls at the reception helped me very well with booking the activities, for example, the snorkeling tour to Tumbatu Island, and security guard Atraxh took me to the place from where the activities started! Also, I did some shopping at Ikea, the hotel's souvenir shop. And at the beachfront, there is a special area designated for swimmers. Would stay here again in the future!
