We were in Baku for the first time. I booked the hotel based on reviews and I was right! The vacation was great.
The hotel is located in a great place in the pedestrian area, next to the old town, close to the Maiden Tower.
The perfect combination of price and location. We booked a room with a window, without a balcony, the view was on the street "Vainera" where there are cafes and a pedestrian area, it is very convenient to go out onto the street and immediately any restaurant for every taste.
The rooms are interesting, the ceilings are high, the interior is original.

The Merchant Hotel is a new luxury hotel in the heart of the old town, right on a pedestrian street lined with cafes and restaurants. We had a luxurious room with a balcony and a view of the local Arbat. We had a delicious morning breakfast.
The hotel employs beautiful, smiling people who treat Russians well and always meet any request of the guest.

В целом отель и правда красивый (хотя на мой взгляд overpriced). Но если Вам нужна тишина, и вы любите открытые окна/ балконы - просто забудьте об этом месте)) - у вас либо супер шумная улица под окнами, либо ночью вытяжка от здания напротив (напротив это - очень близко, и эти здания с вытяжками практически на протяжении всего отеля). Был ноябрь, жить с закрытым балконом было ОК. Летом все же хочется воздуха) Формально есть меню подушек, но все они примерно одинаково неудобные) - я попробовала все, да. У нас был номер какой-то высокой категории, стандартные, как я поняла, сильно попроще. Коридоры, холл, книжные стеллажи внизу - все выглядит действительно стильно, но тишина и комфорт в отеле, на мой взгляд, важнее.

A wonderful hotel in the old part of the city. Friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful room. The bar and restaurant are great and we enjoyed cocktails and food. It was my husbands birthday and they made a special effort to make our stay even more lovely. We participated in a valentines event in the bar and restaurant and the food and service was excellent. The room was stocked with all we needed for a pleasant stay and it was perfectly located for all the sightseeing we wanted to do. Special mention to Nahid and Abbas and the all staff at the cocktail bar.
