Smith Hotel

A completely normal hotel. Of course, cleaning is lame as always in Baku, I’m already used to it. She asked me to clean up after 3 days, as if they just changed the towels, slippers and put some water in. Apparently they don’t remember the cleaning rules in a 4 star hotel. The location is good, the area is pleasant. The staff is friendly, always smiling. It’s quite possible to stay for a couple of days, but if there is no proper cleaning, you won’t stay for long, as it won’t be comfortable. Moreover, there is a busy road nearby; I opened the window and it was already dusty.

We stayed at this hotel expecting that everything would really be as written in the reviews! BUT what a disappointment and horror in our eyes... 1. We booked a room six months before arrival, having warned several times that we needed two separate beds. As a result, not only were there no separate beds, but when we entered the room, it was sooooo smoky, as if we were in a smoking booth at the airport (and this is given that there are signs on all the doors of the room saying "no smoking"). With great effort, we barely managed to change the room to another. 2. The toilet was constantly breaking, sometimes it flushed, sometimes it didn't. When they said that it needed to be fixed, they came to fix it 4 hours later. 3. The hair dryer didn't work, the refrigerator didn't work. 4. We asked for an extra blanket and a set of towels, because there were two of us - it also took half a day to get them. And they also said "well, make the beds yourself, we don't know how." The hotel does not know how to put a blanket into a duvet cover - funny! 5. The breakfast is disgusting, absolutely not tasty, without any choice. Only ready-made semi-finished products. 6. The room is very dirty, as if it had not been cleaned for 5 years. Mold, dampness, bed linen are not the freshest. The photos presented on the website are clearly 20 years old (I present real photos of what the room looks like). 7. It is also very stuffy in the room, it is impossible to breathe. If you turn on the air conditioner, something white falls out of it. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star hotel. But in fact, it barely pulls on 2 stars. Also, shortly before departure, we found out that an annual inspection of all hotels in Baku was conducted and all the stars were taken away from this hotel, except for one. Therefore, a sign with the name and number of stars of the hotel was removed nearby. But the hotel continues to brazenly lie and present itself as a 4-star hotel! Outrageous! The reviews are inflated, the quality and services are disgusting. I have never seen a worse hotel. I will leave this review wherever I can, because the impression of the trip was completely ruined from the very beginning!

We booked a room for 4 days. The room was not prepared - dirt everywhere, bed linen for one. Everything in the room is for one person. The shower stall is dirty. They brought bed linen for the second person, but it is dirty and torn. There is garbage lying around the bed. The service does not match the stated one. The impressions are spoiled. We spent the night and moved out. The money was not returned, although the hotel rules were violated. The breakfast is meager. The milk for the coffee was sour, with an expired shelf life. The staff is unfriendly. The service is very bad. It is strange that there are 4 stars, I would not give even 3.

The hotel is not bad, the staff is responsive and friendly. It’s a long way from the old city, but the metro and other attractions are within walking distance, and they issued a transport card that could be topped up. I took a room with breakfast, breakfast - buffet, something hot, like an omelet or fried potatoes with mushrooms, snacks, cottage cheese, muffins, cookies, etc. There was a Spar and KFC store on the ground floor - also convenient. I took a standard room, it was a little noisy because... The windows face the street and there was a tobacco smell in the room - the only thing I didn’t like. The staff is good, there are Russian speakers, they responded to requests and wishes. Overall I liked the hotel.
