Mamá Orbe Family Eco Farm

This hostel is ideally situated, on an empty beach an hour's walk from gorgeous Utría nature park. The Orbe family have accomplished brilliant conservation work, transforming the mindset of tourists on sea turtles as well as that of their own local community. On top of the warm welcome, each member of the family has precious and unique knowledge to share. I highly recommend the walking tour to the nature park, for an additional fee, where I learned about native plants and how the local afro-indigenous community is working to protect the land. From the Bahía Solano airport you can take a tuktuk to El Valle, and be picked up there on a motorcycle. Simply be aware that the farm is situated in a beautiful remote location, therefore trips into town must adapt to the tide, and you will want to either stock up on food, or purchase meals at the farm.
