Aguila de Osa is the perfect blend of rustic and luxurious. From the moment you get off the launch that takes you from town to the lodge’s dock, you feel like you are in good hands. It is nestled into the side of a hill in a misty, magical jungle. The food is delicious, the staff attentive and friendly and full of personality. Activities are great as well. The dice staff and jungle tour leaders were fantastic. Love that it doesn’t have air conditioning but still manages to keep you cool at night with fans and peaked ceilings.

This is our 3rd time at Aguila. We love the nature, adventures, hotel staff (A+!) and food. The hotel manager Ronald was the best. On top of all our questions, eager to give suggestions and managed the place beautifully. We would recommend this location for visitors who are fit (lots of stairs to hilltop rooms with great views), seeking to see nature in its untouched and thriving environment. The only Downside to us was we would love to have a swimming pool as there really isn’t a close beach to use. Also, without air conditioning, the rooms can be warm, even at night. I would recommend visiting in cooler months. Regardless, we will be return to this beautiful piece of paradise.

A wonderful, remote, magical place with the very best food, beautiful room and outstanding service. Unfortunately, we are both 80 and the hike to our room was almost too much. We didn't see that in the literature. The remoteness made it very challenging when on our third day I fell on a slippery walkway and broke my knee, needing to be carried by four strong men on a stretcher along the Drake Bay Hiking Trail and then airlifted to the ER in San Jose. The staff were extraordinarily helpful throughout. We only wish they had issued a refund for our remaining days instead of a voucher for a return visit, which we will be unable to use.

Spent three nights here, it was wonderful. Everyone so friendly, comfy beds, beautiful room, amazing location tucked away in the furthest reaches of the rainforest. Lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature. Food was outstanding and plentiful. We dined communally with other guests which was lovely for us, but this is not compulsory. Activities were extremely well organised, guides were engaging and knowledgeable. Amazing wildlife experience. Thank you Aguila de Osa!

Stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are great, very comfortable and clean, though you have to walk up several steps to get to the rooms. Shame it doesn't have a pool. The lounge and dining room has great decor and views. A lovely place to hang out and relax. The gardens are so well kept. So much the wildlife about. The food was lovely with lots of variety. The staff were exceptional, so polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff were exceptional, the meals were incredible, the beauty and serenity were awe-inspiring. Staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable, and eager to please. Your choice of meals is served in a communal setting, inviting delightful conversation opportunities with other guests. They accommodated my dietary restrictions (Gluten-free) with every meal. It is a rustic location and you cannot drive there, only hiking or by boat. They also do not have A/C anywhere on the property, which made sleeping a little challenging, despite having large fans in the room. Tours, WiFi and transportation were all included.

Everything about our stay at Aguila de Osa was great. The location, just beyond the end of the road past Drake Bay, is remote and feels very private. Our room was large with comfortable beds. There's no AC, but both a floor and ceiling fan. We loved watching the nightly thunderstorms from our porch chairs. The food is simply outstanding, with a variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's served family style at 3-4 large tables, so you get to know some of your fellow travelers, too. It was the best food we had during 9 days in Costa Rica. We arranged trips to the national park and Isla de Cano through the hotel. The guides were great, pointing out all the stuff we otherwise would have missed. Very professional and knowledgeable. You're also likely to see the owner, Bradd, at some point. Two minutes into our conversation one day, it was clear how much passion and love he has for the area, and pride in his team at the hotel. Shout out to the great staff: Kendell, Laura, Sylvia, Alexander, the Chef and others. Truly outstanding!

Fantastic ending to our holiday in Costa Rica. Vegetarian food was great at breakfast, lunch and dinner with many options. Staff were friendly and helpful. Trips and guides excellent. We were fortunate to see a puma here. Would definitely recommend.
