Nice pool (recently renovated) although rather cool in January. Pool at beachfront (in pics) is a kiddie pool. The only restrooms are located under the restaurant and few patrons seem to bother to hike to them (draw your own conclusion). Also, folks are not supposed to reserve chairs/loungers, but there are always those that do anyway? Security goes a little overboard with rules… We witnessed people being told that they could not drape their shirts on chair backs, nor use a metal go-cup while sitting at the edge of the pool?? The beach and bar staff are great and the grounds are well kept. However, the pictures and reviews on the site are somewhat misleading. This accommodation is of low standards. The beach beds are filthy and broken down. The room stinks, literally… despite air fresheners throughout, there is an occasional smell of sewer gases… Spray air fresheners and leaving the bathroom fan running seemed to help. The unit (614) is dirty and well-worn. The east/south-facing balconies get very warm while the sun is out, even in January. The sliding doors are shaded by drop-down shades, so access to balconies is impaired with shades drawn. Tiny ants crawled the floors and counters. This unit is on the back side and has a view of the ocean to the right, but the overall view (and noise) is dominated by the maintenance shack for the adjoining resort, which can be obnoxiously loud. The sound of the surf competes with the constant drone of air conditioners. Getting to the pool/beach from the 6th floor is awkward… It requires walking to the parking lot end of the building, moving to a lower floor, then backtracking to the opposite end… Quite an inconvenience The cable TV didn’t work for us, but if you bring a Roku you can access YouTube and Netflix. On a positive note, the king bed is very comfortable, water cooler is handy (drinking water provided) and the beach chairs and umbrella were nice. Chairs at the pool are hard plastic and not very comfortable. There are no restaurants within easy walking distance and there are NO bikes with the unit, as claimed in some older reviews. Oye Henry’s beach bar is just under a mile walk to the north on the beach… great margaritas. There IS a new convenience store just steps from the property entrance. The kitchen is fairly well-equipped for meal prep, and the balcony grill is functional. There is a pretty decent outdoor restaurant/bar on premise that accepts credit cards. Note: Bring your own washcloth & wine glasses… they have none?? Yelanie the property contact was very responsive, but keep your expectations in check… this is a pretty shabby place, by typical American standards. I’d offer only 3 stars for the complex and TWO for room 614!
