Old Orangewood Bed & Breakfast

I understand why this place had equal good and not-so-good reviews. If you plan to book a room, choose the ones with windows. The rooms are quite small to begin with and it would be worse if you take those locked-in inner rooms, which feel claustrophobic. We were quite unlucky to stay during bad weather, forcing us to stay indoors and there was basically nothing to do. You can't even while away the time with sightseeing. It is also important to have your own car if you book at this place. I think the jeepney routes don't pass the area and taxis are also few. Since it's quite far from the tourist spots with narrow, descending roads, don't expect a leisurely walk. There's not much to expect of the free breakfast, with limited choices of rice with either daing, corned beef or longanisa, served plated and in very small portions. Old Orange wood looks cozy and homey, if indeed it's your regular home, but not as a rented transient place, which I can imagine would be too cramped on a brisk booking day. Overall, don't expect too much.

Quite disorganized. Triage slip - this is an important piece of paper that a traveller should always bring especially when going to Camp John Hay area. I was asked by the receptionist to hand her the triage slip when we were checking in. I thought it must be submitted to them that’s why it wasn’t returned to me. When we travelled to John Hay, we were blocked at the gate because we didn’t have it. We went back to the hotel and asked about it. The receptionist struggled to find it but eventually found it. Hotel luggage cart - we were about to go to our room and asked for assistance since we have a lot of bags/luggages with us. We waited for so long because they seemed struggling to find the cart, so we decided to go without it. Housekeeping request - on our third day, we called at the lobby to schedule cleaning and replacing everything that needs to be replaced. We were out the entire day and hoping the room is clean when we return, but to our surprise, nothing happened. A staff forcibly opening the door - early in the morning when we were still sleeping (and haven’t had enough sleep), someone was trying to open the door, and since it’s taking a while, I decided to rise up, went to the door and opened it. The staff apologized and said it was a mistake. I never got back to sleep and was not feeling well the entire day. Breakfast - I don’t know if it’s normal but I find it such a hassle to always get a coupon from the lobby daily, and present it to the cafe every morning. The time we plan to take breakfast everyday is also being asked. I know this is to manage/forecast the flow of requests, but one day when we weren’t able to show up on time, someone from the cafe called us to know what time we will eat. I appreciate the concern, but it was just about 8:30am, and what if we were still sleeping? We felt pressured to go down and eat, and that’s what we did. Friendliness - not all, but most of the staff are not used to greeting people. Other than these, there are still good things about this place, such as the location. It’s within the city center, so it’s easy to go around. The area feels safe as well.

Olive Town Center and Hotel

We had an overnight stay in this hotel and it was good. We booked the room with a balcony on a promo rate. The room is good for two but the 2 beds can accommodate 4. The room was big enough and it was clean. The linens were very clean, nice pillows, and clean bathrooms. Good wifi connections. It was also nice that hot and cold water dispenser is available just outside the rooms. Staffs were kind and pleasant. Upon checking in you have to sign some docs stating penalties for linen and bed stains and additional charge for extra hours. We are very careful while eating some take home foods but they were considerate of unintentional extra minutes or an hour. Their resto is just on the first floor in case you want to eat but lazy to venture outside. The hotel is walking distance to bus station, Session Road, SM, Burnham Park, and night market, so very easy if taxis are hard to find. Worth mentioning also is the outlet store at the ground floor of the hotel building that sells imported chocolates, goods, and other stuffs in discounted prices. Wasn't able to take some pics but overall we had a nice stay in this hotel.

I would like to thank the staff for being so very helpful to my girlfriend and her relatives, for sorting out her triage for her medical to come to australia. There were a few things that she needed to do and the staff were on to this. So many thanks for you kind help. They enjoyed their stay and had a good few days courtesy of my wallet haha. The bathrooms to do with some paint, but everything went perfect and no complaints. I will be back on my next trip to stay there to do some sight seeing.

We arrived early for our accommodation and we casually asked if we can check-in earlier. We were surprised that they accepted our request without additional fees. The rooms are clean, the beds are similar to a standard hotel. I highly recommend getting the Garlic Longganisa for breakfast. It's yummy and includes freshly brewed coffee. The hotel is accessible to two spas (I forgot their names) but I know there was a spa that I had to walk up to a dark alley. Also, there is now a City Ordinance that prohibits Smoking, so to all smoking guests, make sure to start stopping now when you visit Baguio City.
