My parter and I stayed in the double room of the cottage for one night after the wedding of his sister. His family took rooms inside the hotel. Our room was very dark and gloomy, decorated in a dark paint with only one light over the stairs. The bathroom was also very dark and had a very impractical roll top bath with a shower hose. When showering in the morning, the water was going all over the walls and floor as there was no curtain. The room had tea and coffee making facilities which included a large tea bag tin with only two tea bags actually in it. There was no milk at all available. I would say that the pub itself was decorated nicely- very quaint. And the breakfast had some lovely options which seemed to please my partner's family. The staff were very slow to restock the buffet with juice, however they were attentive at providing tea, coffee and toast. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly but I found the salmon was not very fresh and not to my tastes. Overall my partner'a family and I were pleased with our stay- it was comfortable enough, but certainly nothing to write home about.

Comfy bed! The hotel was absolutely wonderful! A perfect stop along our Cotswolds journey! The staff was super friendly when we checked in and was sure to let us know of timings for food and drinks! We had supper there which was a little above average. Perfect for an easy night. The patio out back was beautiful too! The bed was SUPER comfortable which made for a great night sleep!

Wunderschönes gemütliches Zimmer mit schönem Badezimmer (Ich hatte das Einzelzimmer, es ist perfekt für Alleinreisende). Das Essen war auch sehr lecker und das Personal war freundlich. Sehr schönes Pub, ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt.

Booked very late for a Sunday lunch with partner’s 93 yr old mother. They fitted us in and went above and beyond to make us welcome. Food was delicious, staff lovely and everything went like clockwork. The guy in charge was very much ‘in charge’, but in a friendly way, that just insured every thing got done right. Love Butcombe Inns but this was a real treat made special by the staff.

Lovely pub and great service! However the Sunday lunch was a bit pricey for what it was. Roast Beef excellent but roast potatoes were tasteless and obviously had been reheated even though we were there at 12 noon. Cauliflower cheese very dry too. We were expecting better quality for £21 95 each.
