Hotel Herberge Zur Traube

A nice, clean and special hotel. Good breakfast, nice rooms. Close to a cosy town center that looks like it is cutted from a middle age movie. Almost waited for a knight to come riding down the street on a big horse😊

This is a lovely small hotel in a centuries-old building just inside the medieval walls of historic Bad Wimpfen. It is an easy 10-minute walk from the train station. Though located on Hauptstrasse (“Main Street”), it was a surprisingly quiet location. We stayed in the “Friedrich II” room located on the third floor facing the street. This is an old building, so don’t expect level floors or many right angles, but do expect charm! There is no elevator, so one must be able to navigate narrow steps carrying your luggage. Our room was clean and nicely appointed, with ample sitting room and a small desk. The WiFi worked well. The bathroom was large by European standards, and the shower was excellent. Liquid body wash/shampoo (but not conditioner) is provided in the shower, and liquid handwash by the sink. There is a hairdryer. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful; depending on the staff, you might not be able to interact in English. Many who stayed here (while we were there) were touring by bike, and the hotel provides secure storage. The website’s photos are accurate, and interestingly, room descriptions provided size measurements which can be helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and recommend it.
