Amara - Sea Your Only View

The best hotel in Cyprus!!! 7 night stay and nothing to complain about. From the moment you arrive they check you in with ease and Christo at reception is attentive and nothing is an issue. Mario at from of house again very accommodating and helpful. The rooms again are perfect and fully equipped I would say that the toiletries changed last year and would definitely recommend going back to Le Labo much better and more for this type of hotel. The Italian restaurant all I can say is the best burratta I’ve ever had!!!! The beef bar was exceptional. Also the staff around the pool made sure that certain guests did not do whatever they want and kept the standard of the hotel unlike many on the island. Breakfast was as good as always and service was perfect. The sea area is perfect with lovely sand and the water always calm. Can’t wait for our next visit.

We had a wonderful adventure staying at Amara hotel. The service was excellent , especially Christos, who was nice and professional.

Many of my previous reviews of hotels given 5-star ratings by reviewers have been critical of them, based on my enormous experience across over 50 countries, suggesting that the reviewers have not experienced a true 5-star hotel. This was our fourth trip to Cyprus, all three previously in described 5-star hotels, but this was undoubtedly the best. In my opinion, this hotel is a true 5-star hotel, matching the best of those in the big cities of Europe. Firstly, a mandatory issue: the staff in this hotel are excellent, from the most junior housekeeper, through all the ranks up to the senior management. They are efficient, personable ,and friendly. Secondly, the excellent room we were in had great facilities and a view. Good air-con with electrically controlled curtains. The mattress was firm, which I loved (but my wife disliked!), and there was a good variety of different pillows, on request. We had a Nespresso coffee machine with as many pods as needed and a free minibar of soft drinks. The shower was perfect. Another must-have of 5-star hotels is nightly repeat housekeeping with replacement towels, which this hotel has. The pool(s) and garden areas were lovely, well-kept by the staff, and loungers and parasols plentiful so that even at the weekend, when the hotel was full with residents and visitors, there was no shortage of places to sit or lie. And, I never experienced any overcrowding in the well-stocked gym. Apart from breakfast, we ate mainly out of the hotel, so I cannot comment on dinner. However, breakfast buffet is "something else" - akin to the best of the hotels in the Far East, with a vast variety of different foods catering to all tastes (including gluten-free and diabetic friendly). Dirty plates were rapidly removed, and less full trays of food were routinely replenished quickly. The lounges and bars were plentiful, comfortable, and well-run. We had hired a car for the whole of our trip, so the hotel's relative "isolation" from the better served areas, as mentioned by other reviewers, was not an issue for us - but it could be for those who prefer their hotel to be in an actively busy area. Our car was valet-parked routinely, at no charge. We look forward to returning here in the not-too-distant future.

We counted last night. We’ve been to over 260 international hotels and Amara ranks in the top 5. We rate hires on location, hotel itself (design style cleanliness) food and beverage, service and amenities. Amara rates at the top on all points. First, we did have a duplex 8027 that was incredible. 3 baths - with 1/2 bath upstairs and an outdoor shower that we combined to make 1 full bath. The food - they have Beef Bar as one restaurant offering. If you have been it’s a must. You can sit on beach. On the grass that also has a gorgeous boardwalk under the chairs. Or a the pools. Here’s where you separate the great from the luxury. You get served surprise fruit at the pools and on the beaches. The attention to detail here. We got lunch on our private pool area and chose the same salad everyday. Grill papaya and kale. Ordered wine and surprises again we received canapés as well bc we ordered wine. We received a beautiful bottle of champagne upon arrival. We even forgot papers in the room from shipping all our actors purchases home and YES they chased the bag the papers, scanned them in and emailed them. The beauty and modernization of the resort rivals the best the world has to offer. We stayed. At 3 hotels during our Cyprus stay. All luxury- but this one - this one stole hearts.
