Catalina Canyon Inn

Lovely hotel and staff. It's a mile up the hill from the bustle of the town so its very quiet and peaceful. It's right next to the catalina country club. Seems like the hotel has been updated in several phases (or so it appears). Lots of different areas to hang out throughout the property Very clean, lovely room with CATALINA BAY WATER VIEW, vaulted ceiling and no one on top of us. Great square roomy balcony overlooking pool. On site dining, check out games in lobby, snacks to buy. Not sure if it would accommodate a handicapped person as there are lots of stairs and hills. This is not a stuffy four star hotel. More laid back, homey and a bit funky mediterranean hotel. EVEN BIGGER BONUS is the free shuttles they run from the hotel every 15 minutes! One to boat dock and the other to downtown. Plus they are PET FRIENDLY! Love this place

The photos may look appealing, but they’re incredibly misleading. This property is completely isolated in the middle of nowhere with no walkable areas, stores, or restaurants nearby. Once you're there, you're essentially stuck. There’s no reliable transportation available except for a single, poorly maintained "shuttle" that runs on its own inconsistent schedule. Calling it a “shuttle service” is generous at best. The entire experience felt unsafe from the start. The grounds and buildings are poorly lit, and there was a constant smell of cigarette smoke throughout the property, both inside and out. Several intoxicated individuals were loitering near entrances and outside common areas, some of whom stared in a way that made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Cleanliness was another major issue. The room was dirty stained linens, dusty surfaces, and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a while and has a bad odor. The communal areas weren’t any better. Trash cans were overflowing, and the overall maintenance of the property was clearly neglected. As for amenities, they were practically nonexistent or not functioning as advertised. Customer service was also unhelpful, rude and inattentive. Staff seemed overwhelmed or simply indifferent, and any requests were either delayed or ignored completely. This feels worse that staying in a $25 motel. They don't even offer you a bottle of water. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to warn others. If you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness, safety, or basic hospitality this is not the place for you.
