Residence Inn Austin Southwest

We stayed in a comfortable king suite. The stand-in singing shower was nice. Hot breakfast had a varied selection, including Texas shaped waffles which were highlights for me. The staff are super sweet, especially Miss Renee and Miss Grace. Overall a most pleasant experience at a hotel that is clean and very well maintained.

I wished the pool had been heated!

The room was comfortable and clean, though slightly less than what I typically expect from a Residence Inn. The staff was pleasant, available, and helpful. Hot water was quick and plentiful. Bath towels were rather small. Housekeeping did a good job. The bathtub was extraordinarily slippery and very dangerous. When I called the front desk for a rubber mat, they sent one up right away. Interestingly, my three colleagues in the same hotel reported that their tubs and showers had texture and were not slippery at all. The breakfast was very disappointing. The scrambled eggs were a solid, baked(?) mass. The remaining food was good. Coffee was not only horrible, but never hot. Even the hot water urn contained water that was barely warm. The bus tray was constantly overflowing. It seems like the breakfast staff could use a little more help. Finally, the seating area was uncomfortable for eating. A few more standard tables (not coffee tables with easy chairs) would be greatly appreciated. The location was not good for walking to other businesses. With a car, it was an excellent location, very convenient to highways and to nearby office locations.
