Hyatt Place Austin Downtown

Have a great stays here. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The room is big enough for 2 persons and it was very clean.

That was my first question after I found bits of food left on a bedside table. If the room had been cleaned (and sheets changed!) between guests, there shouldn't be bits of food left around. Otherwise the place is OK and conveniently located downtown. Walls are thin; you can hear people in the halls and the next rooms. Do not wait until the last half-hour to get breakfast; they might run out of your preferred food by then, and the dining area can be very crowded on a weekend. Breakfast is not particularly nutritious--cornflakes and rice crispies, plain bagels, fried stuff--standard, bland American foods plus makings for breakfast tacos. If you don't need to park a car, the price is reasonable when you just need the basics.

This is probably a good place for people on a budget that want to be center city and get a large and free breakfast. For me it was over crowded, too noisy, too many big chaotic families. Rooms are clean and nice in a minamilist way Free internet. When I was there the elevator broke and it seems there are only two so there were lines to get to one's room. Management couldn't help that- but perhaps some gesture to make it fun (coffee, soft drinks, whatever) could have helped. Still that wasn't the real reason I would never go again- it is a budget answer for big families and I am older and either on my own or with my husband.
