I came here with an open mind and was hoping to have a good visit in Austin. My trip was somewhat ruined by this terrible hotel. Couldn't get a good shower or a good night's sleep here. Please choose a different hotel, there are at least 2 others within walking distance of this one. -Dismal water pressure and hard water makes the shower basically unusable. Worse than any hotel I have ever seen. Had to abandon my attempt at a shower, was afraid to use soap that couldn't be washed off. And the floor of the shower was dangerously slippery, possibly because the housekeeper's cleaning product couldn't be completely washed away due to the low water pressure and hard water. -Woke up to a giant centipede in the toilet (???) -The television and remote looked brand new but worked infuriatingly slow, changing the channel took forever and it would often skip over multiple channels. -VERY noisy building, I could hear every step that my upstairs neighbor took, ceiling creaking and groaning, much like staying in a junky apartment complex with bad neighbors. -Breakfast was dismal and embarrassing. -There was a weird industrial smell throughout the building and in the elevators. -Thermostat did not work properly, hard to set temp/fan and get it to stay, looks like the batteries died weeks ago. -I visited in October and there was junky plastic Halloween stuff everywhere, including that nasty fake spider web stuff.

First time in a Staybridge although I’m a regular at other IHG properties. I was pleased with this location and hotel. The bed was as comfortable as any hotel I’ve stayed in. The room was quiet. I was surprised there was not a chair for the desk which would have been nice as my trip was part tourist/part work. I was not able to open the curtains during the day for natural light as the pull handle was out of reach since curtains went to ceiling. The breakfast was good and the Monday-Wednesday evening beer, wine and food was an added plus I was not expecting. All staff were friendly and welcoming. One negative was the clerk did not know how to separate the bill for me and my traveling companion, no big deal but have not encountered this before elsewhere. As we had to leave early before breakfast hour, she did accommodate the other traveler’s request for food to take medication with and she brought her a scone. A second negative was a charge for parking. I can understand this in locations with limited parking and in downtown areas but there was more than ample parking at this locale with a practically empty lot for Regal Cinema in the same lot. Overall a good experience and I will check out Staybridge on other trips.

The bed and pillows were absolutely a dream...the breakfast was wonderfully filling with a wide variety of staples and surprisingly delicious extras, and the staff were friendly & responsive when we reported our room phone had no dial tone. I would highly recommend this hotel!
