Homewood Suites by Hilton Austin NW Near the Domain

The hotel boasts clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Its prime location near amenities and attractions is praised. Guests enjoyed the breakfast and spacious, well-equipped rooms, particularly the Suite.

I booked this hotel specifically for a very special occasion—my daughter’s 15th birthday, which is a major celebration in Hispanic culture. I chose this location because it offered a 2-bedroom suite that would allow our family to stay together. Unfortunately, as I was driving to the hotel on check-in day, I received a call telling me the suite was no longer available due to an AC issue. I was told, in a surprisingly cold and matter-of-fact tone, that I could either cancel or accept two separate rooms. With no other real option, I had to accept the split setup, which was incredibly disappointing. Being separated from my daughter and family during such a meaningful celebration was heartbreaking. The General Manager was not available, and the Assistant GM—who was at least empathetic—could only offer 30,000 Hilton points as compensation. For those familiar with Hilton, that doesn’t even cover one night at most locations. Our stay was for three. On a positive note, the rooms themselves were clean and spacious. However, the breakfast was mediocre at best, the gym was extremely small, and the female front desk attendant was not friendly or welcoming. The Assistant GM did seem to genuinely care but appeared limited in what he could actually do. The location is excellent—close to H-E-B, the highway, and The Domain shopping area—but unfortunately, the service and experience did not match. This was a memorable trip for all the wrong reasons, and sadly, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

The continental breakfast was for better than I ever had imagined it would be. The staff were super friendly and accommodating.
