Extended Stay America Suites - Auburn Hills - University Drive

The room was not up to power like I thought it would be. There was bugs in there a little nap flies everywhere and I kept it clean, but I needed to do some cleaning cause it was still pretty dirty when I got in.

This was a last minute shopping trip to Detroit, so the hotels we normally stay at were all booked. I found a listing for the Auburn Hills Extended Stay and the price was extremely low. The room I reserved had a kitchen, which I liked. Upon checking in, the smell of pot in the lobby was obvious. I told myself it must be someone just passing through. Entering the room I noticed the kitchen floor was very sticky. Not the best way to start your stay. Looking at the kitchen, we noticed that there weren't any plates/dishes, cutlery and pots/pans. The room was not clean. I decided to sleep in my clothes, and the mattress appeared to have a plastic covering. Also, the door at the east end of the building was always propped open - so much for security. There were people constantly coming and going in the parking lot. If I can say anything positive, the hotel is conveniently located for shopping at Great Lakes Crossing and Somerset. There is an adequate selection of dining options nearby.

The hotel room is very comfortable; air conditioning is great even in October. The staff and manager here are above par in customer service. The cleaning staff is amazing and breakfast is good to have when you are on the go and a traveler like me.
