Palm Suites

The “suite” we stayed had two double beds, separated by a strange makeshift shelf. The air in the room smelled of mildew and mold, even with the air conditioner unit running the whole time. There was paint chipping off of the walls in the shower, and the shower nozzle sprayed water every direction but the right one. They left us two large towels for three people. The lobby appeared modern and clean and smelled of strong disinfectant. However, our room was not modern or clean. I killed a roach on my second night. There was a dehumidifier in the corner which had standing water that hadn’t been emptied or cleaned. For $200 a night and no breakfast included, this was a disappointment and I would not recommend it to anyone. I’d rather stay in Morehead City in a cleaner hotel and drive the extra 10 minutes to Emerald Isle.

What a great place to stay at…room was clean and it overlooked the marsh which is beautiful in the evening…staff was very friendly and it’s close to everything…I loved the gazebo with the furniture…fresh coffee every time I needed a cup and even had a cookie!

The reception welcome was not even saying welcome, not even a smile. Unfriendly and unhelpful. No information was bgiven, even when I asked in which direction the room was, I was just shown the direction. No information about facilities given, not even when I asked. The room itself was very cozy and clean.

The room was not too clean. Staff showed us another but had some type of beetle on the floor. The 3rd room was nice but the fridge was not cold. Had to settle on the first room and clean it ourselves. Staff was very helpful trying to get us an alternate room. Great location but needs a boost on cleanliness.

The hotel was attractive from the outside. It had a pool and a nice small boardwalk on the marsh behind it. It was clean and the beds were comfortable but it was unusual. We had a (moveable) barand chairs in our room and also a table! We had two refrigerators! Just a bit odd.

The front staff was very friendly. The room however was in need of updates and repair. The tub had plumbers tape on the bottom and had black growth under it as well as crevices in tub surround. The fixtures were old and barely secured. The bed had a terrible sag on one side. When I told the front desk attendant she said oh I thought we fixed that. Looks very nice from the outside but that's about it. Definitely look else where or check the room before you commit

Great spot, comfortable bed, great service. We have stayed many nights and always stay at Palm Suites when we go to Atlantic Beach. Good location near shopping, theater, a couple blocks from the ocean, and east acces to all of the crystal coast.

My wife and I stayed here a night for a couples weekend. This is an older property and I remember staying at this location about 15 years ago for a nearby conference (it was a chain hotel back then). I was pleasantly surprised that the property was very well maintained and hasn't shown a lot of age since my first stay there. First off, be aware of a problem when you first drive up: the parking. The lot was pretty full and it was small, so expect some competition for a space and not a lot of room to maneuver your vehicle. I saw a guy spend almost five minutes trying to squeeze his big pickup truck in a space. Once we made it in the lobby I was impressed by the cleaniness, especially with families coming through exiting the pool area. Check in was quick and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. I think all of the rooms are multi-level. In our room the upper level had the bathroom, two queen beds and a very small kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and sink. Go down two steps to the lower level, which was a sitting area with a modular couch and it leads to a sliding glass door and a small balcony, just enough room for two chairs. There are two big screen HD TV's, one per level. The bathroom was the one place that I saw the place was showing it's age. The door was old, the countertop and sink was clean but had seen their better days. The shower was clean except for some old grout around liner that needed to be refreshed. Beds were clean (my wife checked them first thing for signs of bed bugs) and had foam mattresses, very comfortable. Because of our planned activities, we didn't have time to check out the pool and the deck area, but we saw happy acting families coming from that area. Overall, a good stay. Bear in mind that this was a budget property from the very beginning many years ago, but I was pleased to see overall how well it's been maintained.

Clean, friendly and welcoming. Room was nice with queen beds separated in 2 rooms. Great for family. View of sound is beautiful. 5 minute walk across street to the beach. Several good restaurants in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
