My wife and I stayed here for a 2 night break in mid January. The hotel has a great setting at the lakeside with beautiful views although the grounds aren’t extensive. They have a lovely restaurant (as expected given it featured on The Restaurant) and food there or in the bar was excellent. The bar also has a perfect busy vibe for its size. The rooms are well decorated with huge comfortable beds and lots of space. Another plus at the hotel is the free bike hire (or paid electric bike hire). Do avail of this if you have time and try out the Old Rail trail nearby. What really sets the hotel apart though are the staff. From reception to bar staff, cleaning staff and hot tub attendees everyone was super friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. It takes a lot of effort to build the right culture in any team so well done to the management as this is a credit to your hard work. On our list of favourite hotel experiences.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated to an excellent experience. We were met at reception with hot apple cider and then were shown to our room. After settling in, we had a quick bite to eat at the bar which was absolutely delicious—- just what we needed to keep us until dinner. Dinner that evening was amazing. The service from Kash and his team was exceptional (thanks for the excellent wine recommendations). Our meals did not disappoint. Highly recommend the pork belly — absolutely to die for. Back to the room after dinner to enjoy cocktails on the balcony and then to bed on one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve slept on in a very long time. Breakfast in the morning was the perfect conclusion to a most excellent stay. We will definitely be back to partake in all that the Wineport Lodge has to offer.

Just back from a two night stay at Wineport Lodge outside Athlone. We stayed onboard Full Circle, their moored cruiser on the lake just in front of hotel. From the second we arrived we were treated like royalty. There is nothing to match the staff and we have stayed in a lot of 5 star establishments. Every single member of staff was so welcome, friendly and literally could not do enough for us. Special mention to Eve, Aileen and all of the reception staff. I hope the owners of this hotel know what gems they have. Deputy Manager Bren was outstanding. He looked after us throughout our stay and what a lovely professional man. Ray was a diamond in the restaurant and as it was my birthday I was so spoiled by all the staff. The boat was the perfect stay. Loved every minute of it. Our breakfast was served to us each morning onboard plus we had our very own private oasis for the three of us. Perfect location overlooking the lake. Used the infinity pool….. divine!! Food was gorgeous, staff were incredible and I will never forget our stay here. Thank you to each and every member of staff at Wineport, you are amazing!! Will definitely be back.

What a great experience at Wineport Lodge - beautiful location, excellent service and attention to detail from start to finish. Staff are so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Hotel gets all the simple but important things RIGHT - from. Checking in, breakfast in bed with your paper to excellent food and friendly helpful service from all staff. Will definitely be back.

Ein liebevoll eingerichtetes, gemütliches und (für unsere Bedürfnisse) mit allem ausgestattetes Hotel. Äußerst freundliche und hilfsbereite Menschen die uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt haben; sehr gutes Essen, riesige Getränke-Auswahl. Das integrierte Spa kostet zwar extra, man hat aber dadurch den Vorteil dass man selbst beim Besuch des Pools weitgehend alleine ist, eine Überfüllung wie in manchen Wellness-Resorts ist hier ausgeschlossen. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Suite mit großzügigem Bad, Wanne und Dusche, riesiges Bett und einen fantastischen Blick auf den See. Im Winter sind die Möglichkeiten sich draußen zu bewegen ein wenig eingeschränkter, dafür hat die Landschaft einen ganz eigenen Charme und man kann tatsächlich mal abschalten. Man kommt recht schnell nach Athlone (Auto vorausgesetzt), eine Kleinstadt in der man eigentlich fast alles bekommt was man so braucht; nach Galway braucht man aber auch nur eine gute Stunde. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team der Wineport Lodge, wir hatten eine zauberhafte Zeit - everything we needed, so much more than we expected :) !!! Thanks a Million!

This was an overnight stay to celebrate my hubbys 40th, and as it drew near I worried that I had overspent and the hotel would fall short of expectation. I. Was. Wrong. It wasn’t an overnight stay, it was an Experience! Our stay from start to finish was flawless. The staff are incredible, helpful, educated in their field and approachable. The hot tub was brilliant, we took a dip in Lough Ree, our spa treatment, the infinity pool - everything was simply super. Room was spotless, view was incredible and bed was very comfortable. The bar and dining experience was 10/10, perfect wine accompaniment- need I go on. We felt like VIPS, truely special people. It surpassed all my expectations and we will definitely return. Beautiful location, wonderful staff, super rooms with comfort and views, great spa and lovely food. I would thoroughly recommend this place for a total chill out break. It was so peaceful sitting looking out at the lake and to be honest, we were completely lazy and did that most of our two day stay! Our only reservation is that we both thought the menus were limited in the choices they offered. So whilst we really enjoyed the food selection for the lunch and two dinners that we had, if we had stayed there a third night, we would have been struggling to pick our meal. We would definitely go again and probably try it in the summer.

The moment we got to the hotel the staff were absolutely flawless! Especially Lek and Jason, they couldn't have done enough. We had gotten engaged earlier this day, the hotel had no clue until after we arrived and when they did find out they did everything to make out special day more special. The food was amazing, the staff were fabulous, the whole aesthetic of the hotel was amazing, the room was spotless and the spa was just beautiful not to mention the stunning views. Honestly couldn't recommend the Wineport Lodge enough.
