33 Solonos Suites

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is in the city centre, and it is convenient to get around. However, that is the only good thing about this place. I recently booked 3 nights in their Junior Suite. The room is on the 1st floor, but it is more like a raised ground floor. My room, room 11, was right beside the main entrance door which bangs and makes a loud sound when it closes. The room is NOT soundproof. You could hear people walking upstairs. The worst part was the constant traffic right outside of the room which makes you feel like you are actually sleeping on the street. At 2 am during my first night, I wrote an email to request a room change. That morning at 8:30 am the hotel replied and said they had one room but it was smaller than the room I had booked. I told them I didn't mind the room being smaller and I was willing to swap. Later they came back and said it was impossible to change. The funny thing was just right before I sent that request email, I had checked on their official website and found out they still had plenty of rooms for booking. Eventually I had to go and buy some ear plugs in order to survive my second and third night. If you are going to book this hotel, make sure you check whether the room you are booking is facing Solonos street. The noise from the traffic is just unbearable.
