The hotel is very pet friendly. There is a bike path and a dog park adjacent to the parking lot. Close to food and shopping. Breakfast was good.

Very Clean and inviting hotel stay. Modern room. Great service

Decent hotel. King Bed is comfortable. Room was in decent shape.. Bathroom could use update. Staff was very nice. Great location to OU and right off the freeway. Had Applebee’s right in front of the hotel along with a CVS. Traffic was ok getting in & out.

Absolutely love this place and absolutely love the staff. Front desk mgr Ashley is by far the kindest and best there is. Always makes you feel at home and always goes above. She makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in!

Visited for mom’s weekend at Ohio University. Further from the campus then I wanted, but not a bad drive. Room was very clean and my daughter and I, loved the breakfast. My only complaint, was there were kids that were running up and down the hall and jumping, making it very loud. Enjoyed my stay otherwise.

Check in And check Out was Quick and friendly. The breakfast was free and adequate. The room and hotel itself seemed clean. Would come back here again next time in Athens. Cannot comment on pool Or hot tub as we didn’t get to use them. Keurig in room is nice also.

Our stay at this hotel was nice. Staff friendly, good breakfast. Unfortunately being near a college town, it was a bit pricey, even without it being a key weekend (wasn't graduation, parents weekend, etc). We did like the location being outside the school area but close enough that it was just a short drive.

The is the best Holiday Inn Express of 4 that we have stayed in in the last 6 weeks. Online booking was easy, then I called and requested a quiet room away from highway traffic and elevator. Ashley was very personable on the phone . The interior was clean and bright and welcoming. The clerk indicated we would be away from street traffic and elevator; Our room was very quiet where is was located. The bed was fantastic. Room was clean even looked fairly new renovation. Breakfast was very good, nice variety eggs were fluffy bacon crisp the sausage gravy as good as some chain restaurants the ladies taking care of the breakfast area were keeping food and coffee replenished and the counters clean. I spoke with Ashly as we were leaving and told her this was the best of 4 and less money and more value than upstate New York. The only con is that they allow dogs,

Think twice about staying at this hotel if you are concerned about COVID. During our stay, we experienced multiple hotel staff not wearing masks in violation of Athens City ordinance and Holiday Inn policy. The details -- We thought hard about whether to take this trip to Athens to visit our daughters' family for Christmas. We decided that airline and hotel precautions made it reasonably safe to travel as we are fully vaccinated and would be with family. Also, Athens has a city ordinance requiring indoor masks in public places. Holiday Inn advertises its COVID safety measures, including compliance with local requirements. We have stayed at the Athens Holiday Inn Express a number of times over the last several years to visit family in the area. Prior to COVID we had no complaints about the hotel. On this trip, we were upset and concerned to find after checking in that many hotel staff, including the manager, food service, and cleaning staff were frequently not wearing masks, even though the hotel had a poster on the front door announcing that the Athens indoor mask ordinance required masks for everyone in the building My daughter called the hotel on our behalf to complain and was told the owner was getting a bit "lax" but was reassured that staff would start wearing masks. However, over the rest of our stay, we again saw staff not wearing masks, including another a food service person in the breakfast area. One food service staffer without a mask told me hers was "broken" and "in the back." There is no excuse for this hotel and its staff to intentionally disregard standard effective COVID health precautions, local legal requirements, and corporate policy and public representations, all with the result of increasing health risks to hotel guests and their families. We will look at other options for our next trip
