Marriott's Playa Andaluza

Marriott Playa Andaluza is an outstanding resort. The employees are all so customer focused and the concierges Tomasso and Frederika do a wonderful job suggesting places to visit. The views overlooking the sea from your balcony is wonderful. The pools are very nice and the grounds are kept up beautifully.

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at Playa Andaluza having exchanged through Interval International - although we actually started our journey with MVCI 17 years ago at the same resort. Due to the vagaries of booking through Interval we had 2 separate bookings -the first week in a studio apartment and the second week in a 2 bedroom villa. This meant that we had to change accommodation at the end of week 1 (which we knew about in advance) and, in the end, the move between the two units took no more than 1 hour as we were able to have access to the "new" unit coinciding with the 10 o'clock check out time. Thanks to staff who were able to facilitate this. In summary - and many reviews have made similar comments - the whole resort is maintained to a very high standard and the staff were, without exception, FANTASTIC. At all times we were greeted with courtesy, friendliness and total professionalism. Help from the Concierge service was greatly appreciated in planning bus trips to Puerto Banus and Estepona. We only ate in the resort a couple of times but the fish we chose from the bbq on our first night was excellent. There are also a number of decent restaurants no more than a 10 minute walk away. The Market Place is pretty well stocked with a good range of basic items - yes, it is more expensive than Aldi (5 minutes walk) but you will always pay a premium for convenience, anywhere in the world. We encountered no problems during our 2 week stay. We would happily return to Playa Andaluza - thanks to everyone who enabled us to enjoy a very relaxing holiday. Adrian and Helen

The most amazing hotel and staff. We were greeted by Laura at the front desk who was extremely friendly and informative . From there our stay just got better and better . Our first days lunch and evening meal were so delicious we were tempted never to leave the resort! The staff could not have been friendlier , I’ve never experienced such attentive housekeeping service and everything g about the hotel was welcoming, friendly and beautiful apart from the beach - which was not very appealing . Saying that , the hotel pool choice was so lovely we don’t feel like we have missed out, and the view of the ocean from our room is stunning. All of front deck, pool bar and guest service staff felt more like old friends. We will definitely be back

Wonderful location and facility. Had a great time visiting this area of Spain. You definitely need a car to really take advantage. We were out each day and night and have to thank their head concierge, Tomasso that customized each day for us and set up reservations at authentic restaurants and directed us to special small towns and truly made our visit so wonderful. We have holidayed with Marriott since 2004 after owning in France. But never been to this particular resort. Came for a 4 night break. Really really lovely. Stayed in the Granada building, ground floor apartment, which was a great base as pretty much everything is in this block. Outdoor pool freezing, but indoor lovely and warm with 4 jacuzzis and a gym overlooking this. Bar and restaurant reasonably priced, every Thursday they do a flamenco night which is €33 pp and you get sangria, tapas, 2 choices of paella and dessert including entertainment. Drinks are about €12 per cocktail, however they do happy hour every day 5-6 which includes beer soft drinks wine gin and tonic aperol spritz and the cocktail of the day. Walking distance to Aldi supermarket and restaurants, Italian on side of road by overpass was amazing!!!! Pool bar for lunches totally delicious, recommend club sandwich. Apartments lovely with daily housekeeping. The same usual Marriott standard with classic luxury accommodation. Staff as usual are lovely apart from one standoffish reception person who seemed to think we were thick for asking where parking was in Estepona. Puerto Banus just up the road 10 mins or so, Estepona hardly worth going as bugger all shops there, mainly just bars/ restaurants. Estepona is 25 mins away so save your time. As always impressed with Marriott.

We have been coming to Playa Andaluza for years and has never failed to impress. We were granted our request for a room in the Granada building with a sea view, which was a wonderful surprise! All of the staff are welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. The variety of activities on-resort is brilliant, including the bingo near the Pool Bar, where the activities team are ready to entertain you and making sure that everyone is enjoying themselves. Wonderful holiday as always marriott 10/10!

Property is ok , large rooms , furniture bit dated. Nice facilities but looking tired. Effectively in the middle of nowhere so taxis everywhere if you don’t have a car. If you do have a car it is extremely difficult to find. Even the second time and especially if you are trying to arrive or leave when the large school next door (which looks like a prison) is starting or finishing.
