Excellent place to stay, comfortable, friendly, well equipped and near to amenities. Lovely welcome hamper (much appreciated), big fluffy towels, comfy bed, large bedroom and lots of lovely decor. Easy check in, great parking and knowledgeable, friendly hosts. We will return and can highly recommend, thankyou for a wonderful stay at Milton House.

Lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean and very comfy beds. Lovely friendly hosts and you are left alone after check in. You are on quite a busy road but if you are up early to explore the area like we were then that doesn't affect you. Perfect place to visit places around North or West Yorkshire. Highly recommend. Tried the mobile chip van Ramsays.....sadly that was very disappointing so I can't recommend that.

My wife and I booked the double room at Milton House for a welcome stay as we were hiking on the Lady Anne's Way. We had walked about 12 miles up from Hubberholme that day and the house, right on the path's route through Askrigg, was a welcome sight. We had a warm welcome from the owners. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and Jo had booked us a meal and breakfast at a local upscale hotel which was excellent as on the day we arrived ( a Monday), most of the local pubs were closed. We stayed at about 16 different establishments on this trip to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District and this room was by far the most reasonably priced of them all. Overall, Milton House is very well located on the trail and we were glad we stopped here.

Really lovely apartment. We stopped in the one facing the village (can’t remember which one it was called) Pretty outlook, lovely village feel. The owner was very welcoming and so helpful with recommendations of where to eat/visit (we would recommend The Middle, enjoyed a lovely evening meal there!) She was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well presented. Loved the decor, modern but in keeping with the Victorian building. We will definitely be back. Love the dales and the friendly locals make it!

I had such a great time in Askrigg ... mainly because of how comfortable and welcoming the studio apartments at Milton House are. The bed was really really comfortable, which makes such a difference when I'm away from home. Because I was a woman travelling alone it was very reassuring to have the owner, Jo, give advice about the best places to go and eat. She was so friendly and welcoming and put me immediately at my ease. Thanks Jo, I'll surely be back before too long.

We decided to stay in Askrigg for a couple of nights and thought this would be a good spot. Very rude owner/land lady, very "stuck up". Very unwelcoming and we couldn't wait to leave. Overpriced for what it is. Mentioned our terrible experience to locals in the area and no one was surprised, every single one of them agreed that she is extremely unprofessional and rude. Completely put off visiting Askrigg again - such a shame as it's a beautiful little place. Avoid avoid avoid.

I stayed at MIlton House for two nights when coming to the Dales for a solo walking trip. It was an excellent experience on every level. Jo is a perfect host with great communication skills - she was in touch before I arrived and there was an option of receiving a key code if I arrived late. As it happened, I arrived within the 4-6pm check-in period and Jo showed me to the room which I had booked. I booked the double room which is available on a room only basis and that suited very well as I don't have much breakfast anyway. One of the highlights for me was that there was a small fridge in the room with milk, yoghurts and fruit juice. As someone who loves tea but detests UHT milk, this was a treat. Although booked as a room without breakfast, Jo left a hospitality tray with cereal, croissants and jam which was very welcome. The bed was extremely comfortable as it has a special mattress which made a huge difference. The shower was over the bath so I had the best of both worlds, which was perfect after walking in that very hot spell we've had. Everything was immaculately clean. Parking very convenient in a small car park virtually adjoining the property ( there is also private parking even nearer) and the property is perfectly placed in Askrigg where there are a range of eating options at night. Jo was very helpful with suggestions of where to eat and other tips. I would highly recommend this property - one of the best I've stayed in.

Askrigg is a perfect place to explore Dales, and is wonderfully quiet. Our stay at Milton House was perfect, and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for the comfort of home, away from home. Jo runs a wonderful establishment and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The king-size bed was fantastic to sleep on, and the 'self-prepare' breakfast was a great way to start each day. Mill Gill (waterfall) is only a relatively short walk away and is worth a visit - such a good way to take in the country-side. The nearest pub is just across the street so you can visit the nearby, busy tourist towns, castle and waterfall and then park the car and enjoy some quiet village time.
