We stayed in the Bird Cage room, it was a lovely room finished to a high standard. Generally clean, The top of the leather bed needs a good dust as do the lights and mirror. It was quite thick so this hasn’t been done for a while. Bathroom amenities included, these aren’t the ones labelled on the bottles so be careful if you have allergies! Food was provided for breakfast which was nice, bottles of water, orange, fruit & porridge. Bed was comfy, slept quite well, floors are creaky with people walking past but generally was quiet. Tv has free view, WiFi didn’t work in the room but I did have 5G! Only one toilet roll in the room. I’d stay again and I think it was fair for the price but with a few tweaks I think it could be excellent. The restaurant was brilliant, food reasonably priced and excellent quality, staff were helpful and friendly.

I came here with my family for my retirement meal, there was 28 of us in total. We pre-ordered and the food and drinks came out efficiently. The service was great. Thankyou to Pauline and her staff who made the experience very enjoyable and stress free considering there were 12 children in our party.

Really lovely Inn on the A37. Comfortable and clean rooms with a bit of road noise - but not enough to keep me awake in the lovely, comfy bed. Some tea and coffee making facilities too and enough for a light breakfast in the room was a bonus. Friendly staff and great value for money. Would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Ended up as a solo traveller after initially booking for me, wife & 2 dogs for a work trip I had to make, unfortunately they could not make it this time around. Great pub, brilliant & friendly staff, wonderful food, my room was perfect. Loved the bed, bathroom great & a real bath in the room was a great touch. Décor very tasteful. My wife has seen the pictures & can't wait until I have to work in the area again so she can come along. The big plus for me was in being able to leave early in the morning for work & having a breakfast bag to take with me! Most times when I have to stay away I always end up missing breakfast due to my early starts. 5 stars? I would give it 6! As for value... excellent.

Started wonderful then went downhill. Now he good points first: I stayed in the “Rabbit Hutch Room” (all the rooms are themed). The bed was a small double which is great for a single room and was comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with a shower that had a rainfall shower head as well as a normal one and looked new. Apart from the the drawer in the single drawer in the dressing table (which was lovely by the way) there was no other storage. There was a hook with a single hanger. The room could not take a wardrobe, but perhaps a small beside drawer unit could be a put beside the dressing table. Lack of storage would not be a problem for an overnight stay but I was there for 3 nights, so not so great. I had dinner in the restaurant on Friday & Saturday night and both nights and it was excellent and the staff were great. I didn’t feel rushed and it was a lovely atmosphere. The location was brilliant for visiting Wells, Weston Super Mare and Cheddar which I did during my stay. Now the not so good things: On Saturday I was told that food isn’t served after 6pm on Sundays, but the bar would be open…..which was fine. I had dinner in Weston, got back at 7:30pm to find it all locked up and the bar closed….:probably because the f the football…..which would have been fine if they’d said something on Saturday night! Had they done so, I would have stayed out later, but got back at 7:30pm hoping to get a drink, believing the bar would be open as I’d been told on Saturday night….. On Monday morning I went downstairs just after 7:30 am to start putting things in my car for the journey home. There was a smoke alarm going off downstairs that could be not be heard until you went downstairs to the main bar/restaurant area. I could find not staff as downstairs was in darkness. I rang the only number I had but of course the inn was closed so I left a message to say I was calling 999. I phoned the fire service and knocked on the other guest room doors to let them know. The fire crew arrived and thankfully it was just an error, but the fact there was no way to find a member staff was very worrying. It’s a shame that my short break ended on such sour notes.

The place is we'll decorated, and clean, and very relaxing. The food was so fresh and tasty and flavourful. The value for money was fantastic and the portion sizes were huge. The staff were polite and accommodating and there was gf and df adaption made to the meals on request. We will be returning very soon.

The Mendip in is a lovely Pub/Restaurant with lovely friendly attentive staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was outstanding and service second to none. The buliding/layout is also nice with a small garden outside. We also stayed in one of the rooms (Puddle Duck) which had a comfy bed, a free standing bath and lovely shower, also breakfast goodie bag was also a bonus

I stayed in the Rabbit Hutch. The smallest room at £50 a night. Comfortable bed, welcoming staff and clean. Great rain shower too and handy breakfast bag. Found the room really noisy due to limited sound proofing between rooms and ground floor. Room was also hot, meaning I had to have the window open all night - lots of road noise and disruption from opposite house
