We stayed here for two nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is near Gora Station, just few minutes walk. There's a common lounge and a small kitchen. There's a rooftop where we can gather there to relax and chill out. Also at the ground floor, there's a recreation area. Overall the stayed is very pleasant. Hope to go back again.

I always go to a fixed inn, but when I used the national travel support, I thought it was a different inn, and it was a high class, so I was a little disappointed, but it was disappointing. I intended to check it properly, but the open-air bath in the room smelled of chlorine due to circulation. The size of the room, facilities and amenities were substantial, and I was glad that there was a fan because it was hot after entering the hot spring even in the cold season. Dinner was an obanzai style, so it was a pity that even the warm items were cold. Atami Fuga was the same, but is the rice cooked with a siphon warmed with dashi soup? It was a performance, but the normal meal was good. The breakfast was served in a multi-tiered box style, and the tofu shop in the neighborhood had a piece of deep-fried tofu with no seasoning, no soy sauce, and it was cold. There was nothing left and most of it was left. The rice in the bowl was cold, and the miso soup with root vegetables wasn't cooked at all. . Is it a young staff who graduated from a cooking school without a head chef, or is it a form of warming and serving ready-made food? No matter which inn I went to, I never left a meal behind, but I'm sorry that there weren't many things that were made, but I lost the desire to eat. No repeats.

We had a fantastic stay at the Fufu Hakone. Our family of 4 loved the hotel. The service was wonderful. The staff went above and beyond when we left a coat in our room and they shipped it to Tokyo, at their expense, to arrive at our hotel the next day. The rooms were big, comfortable and modern but the experience still felt traditional with the lounge suits and shoes we were provided and encouraged to wear to all meals. The spa and onsen were tranquil and relaxing and the massages were great. Coming from the UK, it felt like the hotel mostly caters to Japanese visitors. Some of the staff don't speak fantastic English, but we muddled through and would use the translate feature on our phones to happily communicate to each other. We liked that the hotel wasn't overwhelmed with Western travelers. We tried both restaurants and the food was very good. At both you have the ability to make some choices about what you'd like to eat to your tastes which was appreciated. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Gora station, but note that the hotel can't receive calls from phone numbers outside Japan so you need to confirm a pick up time from the station in advance. We knew we were going to be late to our agreed time and sent an email which they received in a timely manner but that could be frustrating if you didn't know. Also, breakfast alternates between Japanese and Continental and the Japanese breakfast is full on for someone not used to it. One recommendation I would have is to always have a small continental breakfast on offer. Overall, it was a peaceful, tranquil relaxing stay at this wonderful hotel and a highlight of our trip for our entire family. We would highly recommend.

It may not be as polished or extravagant as other hotels, but it carries the heart of the owner who was raised in this land, along with a real hot spring.
