The food and service were a cut above other places we visited. We particularly liked the evident skills in the kitchen producing quality food with finesse. Service was equally good. Plenty of seating both outside and in. Parking easy in large car park.

We had booked a three-night stay in a junior suite at the Ashford Arms. Unfortunately, because of a misunderstanding regarding mobility issues, the room wasn't suitable and we ended up staying only one night. Luckily, the staff could not have been more efficient or accommodating: they helped with the luggage and found us another hotel in a nearby town. Except for the mobility issues (slightly steep stairs to the second floor and a few steps up into the bathroom), we would gladly have stayed many more nights. The inn is spotlessly clean, dinner and breakfast were both excellent, the staff were all professional and friendly, and the village of Ashford is charming.

Went for lunch with a friend, we were served by Rosie. She was very friendly and obliging as all the staff seemed to be. The food was delicious, highly recommend 👍.

Family and myself went to Ashford Arms for lunch on the recommendation of Mackenzie. Turned out to be an excellent choice. Lovely food from a great choice of dishes from a great menu. Very pleasant atmosphere warm and welcoming. Staff very attentive and pleasant, nothing being too much trouble for them. Beautiful location well worth visiting.

Fantastic food and service. Great beet and wine. Lovely decor and ambience. My friend had roast beef and it was faultless, in her words the best roast she’s had. We had a lovely evening here and would be back when visiting again. Thank you to the staff who were very friendly and attentive.

A great day out in and around Bakewell ruined by a parking charge notice. Food and atmosphere was okay, staff all seemed a bit stressed. It was a busy Easter Day on our visit but we didn’t notice any parking signs and no staff on entry or at the bar mentioned registration of your vehicle was required… subsequent phone call (after receiving parking notice) to rectify was a waste of time and partner ended up paying £60 fine. In all £120 spent - be very careful if visiting here, I live in Derbyshire and won’t be visiting again. There’s a menu board on the front entrance way - I’d suggest management place a parking notice sign directly above this so it’s hard to miss!! Would love to know what financial arrangement is in place between the pub and Britannia Parking!!!
