Alexander's Lodge

Guests praise the consistently clean, cozy, and simple rooms. The location near the park entrance is convenient for accessing the area.

If I could give this lodge no stars, I would! We stayed at the Emerald Suite at Alexander’s Lodge near Mt Rainier on August 26th, 2025. Although we planned to stay two days, we left after one night due to an infestation of insects in the bathroom. When we first entered the room, there was a strong mildew smell but we overlooked that problem figuring that we were in the woods in a rustic setting. What drove us away were the dead, dying and living insects crawling all over the bathroom counter and shower stall. There was even a Katchy plugged next to the sink filled with dead creatures so management was aware of this problem. When we tried to complain, the person answering the phone said the manager wouldn’t be available for two days. When we asked for a refund of the second night’s charges (over$250.00), this person said bugs were all around us all the time! We returned the key and left early the 26th. Management was nowhere to be found even though my husband talked to someone and told him to expect us not five minutes prior. We have traveled extensively for many years and have never encountered such an inhospitable and cavalier attitude.

We stayed at Alexander's Lodge with two kids for two nights. It was really a big comfort for us to check out the room was so clean & cozy and filled with food (breakfast of the following two days) after 3-hour drive from the city! We had very good rest so we hiked all the way up to Panorama Point the next day. There is a pond and a little forest behind the Lodge. We took a little walk around the field on the day of checking out. It's an enjoyable experience and we would like to thank the management team for making it happen.
