Alexander's Lodge

The location was good, as it is near the park. Our room was clean, however there was very little room for luggage; a portable A/C unit took up a chunk of space. Beds were extremely hard; toiletries were basic. We arrived at night, and lighting in the parking lot needed to be a bit brighter. Guests receive an email several days before where you order your "complimentary" breakfast basket. Choices for that are very limited, and let's be honest, that cost is factored into the room rate. Breakfast was delivered on time. The total cost for our room was around $225 per night, so you will be paying that price point for the location, not the facilities. Not a good value for your money. We knew that rooms on the 3rd floor did not have access to an elevator, however be aware that the steps to that floor are very steep.

We stayed here for a wedding taking place nearby. We did not see any employees from the moment we got there to the time we checked out with the exception of when we called for missing items like soap and toilet paper. The place is run down but clean and quiet. They do not service your room at all. No change of linens, towels or emptying garbage. No elevator to the 3rd floor. Our room was missing the bottom of a drawer and there was no drain in the bathroom sink. I was afraid I would drop a ring in the sink and never see it again. The breakfast was put in our refrigerator before we arrived. There was enough for the 2 breakfasts we were going to have. There were coffee cups but you were expected to drink the juice/milk out of the containers- no straws. We were given 4 extremely small and flimsy paper plates for the 2 days we would be there. It is very close to the Mt Rainier visitor's entrance. Personally, I would stay in the park if that was my only destination. They also were not cheap.

Absolutely loved our stay here!! Had a quick single overnight and stayed at Room 5 in the lodge. The lodge and its garden/pond were very cute. The lodge itself is an older building, but we had a fantastic stay. Our room wasn’t anything crazy, but it had everything we needed. the bed was memory foam and super cozy. We expected it to creak when we sat down but instead we silently just melted into it and had such a good nights sleep. There was a little tv set with a DVD player, and the parlor has a whole wall full of DVDs. So we went down there and picked out some DVDs like when we were kids and just watched movies and fell asleep. The wall AC unit worked well and we were very comfortable sleeping. We passed on the included breakfast because we packed our own, so can’t speak to that. But a fantastic stay. Will absolutely come again and recommend to family and friends!

First off, the room was clean and well equipped. The bed was a little too soft for my taste, but that’s ok. We did arrive a little early and they let is check-in a little early. The grounds were very nice and the parlor had lots of games, dvds and sitting areas. What caused us to lower our assessment is some rather weird e-mail correspondence. After getting our reservation far in advance, we received an e-mail about a week or ten days saying breakfast would be delivered to the door outside our room between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. and we needed to make out selections. We did and received an e-mail reply saying that our selections had been recorded. Several days later, we received another e-mail describing the process but telling us to ignore that e-mail if we had already made and submitted our selection; we ignored it. A third e-mail arrived a couple of days before our check-in with the same instructions. I actually replied including our e-mail confirming our selection. By 8:30 a.m. no breakfast….so we left and had breakfast at a nice diner down the street.

Do not recommend. From the very 1st night, had severe allergies due to carper smell, forced to stay indoors with not much choice. Disappointed with cold breakfast, TV not working. No consideration of any sort of flexibility in travel plans due to sickness. Will look for better options and flexibility next time

When considering a stay near Mount Rainier National Park, the options are limited and prices are high. We picked Alexander’s Lodge and were very happy. We mostly wanted a clean hotel with comfortable beds and this hotel does great with both of those areas. The beds and pillows were comfortable and our room with two beds was very large. The WIFI worked great and there was a microwave and refrigerator. The location is key here as it is very close to the Nisqually park entrance. The room also included a guest book with recommendations for restaurants, etc, which we found helpful. My daughter and I found the included breakfast a great addition. They said it would not be delivered until after 7:30am, but ours was there by 6am. We had ordered in advance the hard boiled eggs and they stayed great in our cooler until late morning at the park when we needed a snack. I’m not sure what more you could want because you won’t find any Marriotts or chain hotels in this area. If you need those types of properties then you should plan to stay further away. Yes, the price was not low but it was the same or lower than anything else we found and had better reviews than many. We did see a staff member upon our arrival who asked us if everything was going ok. The one thing I did really wish they had was an ice machine, but there was a gas station on the other side of town where we could get ice and snacks, etc. This is an older lodge but if your priority is to be near the park entrances, Alexander’s Lodge is a great option. We would go back again.

For a Disney Fan, I loved this place! I stayed in the tower/turret and thought, “Rapunzel, let down your hair!” It is older, like being at your grandma’s and very clean! Beautiful trails behind it, & a peaceful pond. Summer is so helpful! Breakfast came in a basket…Little Red Riding Hood style!

The parlor had no A/C so could not enjoy the space, vending machine out of order so no water for coffee, no ice dispenser, gift shop closed when came by at 2 pm. Our Room 10 had strong odor beyond musty like cat urine, filthy carpet (see pics). Only A/C was in bedroom window which was loud and ran all night. Our breakfast was muffin, apple and OJ left on carpet floor outside door (no thank you). Two deadbolts and safety latch on door (see pic.)! All this for $300.
