A BnB must have two things. The Azalea Room was a deluxe bedroom with huge, comfortable bed and a spacious bath, TV, beautiful views, with peace and quiet. Our three breakfasts were amazing. Asheville is known for great food and drink. These first repasts of the day were the best meals of our days, exceeding our fine dining experiences each evening! The inspiration, chef, manager, host, concierge and new friend is owner Alicia. You must visit and meet her! The Black Walnut Inn gets 6 stars!

We decided to visit Asheville and Biltmore at the last minute. We were very fortunate to have been able to book a room at the Black Walnut B&B. Alicia met us at the door, helped us with our bags and immediately made us feel welcome. We stayed in the luxurious Holly Room that was extremely well appointed and comfortable. The bed was excellent. The breakfasts were sumptuous and healthy at the same time! There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance, and the walk is very pleasant! We highly recommend the Black Walnut to anyone visiting Asheville. Alicia is an excellent host!!

Alesia welcomed our group of six (family) and we were delighted to see the beautiful interior decorated for the holidays! Both evenings we used the parlor until time for bed. The gourmet hot breakfasts gave us the energy needed to to visit the Biltmore House. This inn should rank at the top with the others in historic Montford.

Anniversary getaway
We had a great time at this B&B. This was our first time in Asheville. Very clean, super cute with lots of extra perks. Close to downtown- very walkable.
Breakfast was so good and loved the happy hour as well:)

Wonderful B&B
Adorable house in historic Montford area. We stayed in the Magnolia room. It was very spacious with a comfortable bed and accessible bathroom. Our hostess, Alicia, provided fresh baked snacks and beverages all day long. The breakfast was absolutely delightful - especially the baked apples! There was even a singer on Friday night along with the happy hour. There is a gorgeous pond in back of the main house - just watch your head, as the property features a massic walnut tree and those suckers are heavy!

Good but not great.
Mattress too soft for us.
No standup shower in the room we were given.
Food was good, not excellent for the price of stay.
Owner and staff never smiled.

The quintessential B&B. A beautiful home, well kept, in a quiet part of town. A gracious host who wants her guests to be comfortable. Delicious breakfasts. Our room had a king size bed, 2 comfortable reading chairs and a great shower. Nothing better than sitting in the rocking chair on the front porch watching the world go by.

My wife and I visit Asheville frequently and this was the first time that we have stayed here. We absolutely loved it! Alicia (the owner and inn keeper) could not have been more hospitable. The room was great and the food was even better. The inn is very close to downtown as well. We will definitely be back!

FANTASTIC midweek getaway! Alicia was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The Black Walnut Inn is stunning and full of history. Our room was gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The little added touches in the room were also very nice - water and toiletries (which smelled great). We enjoyed Happy Hour each evening with fresh baked goodies. The living room and the front porch were perfect places to relax before heading out to dinner. Coffee was available via a fantastic machine that ground the coffee beans freshly and allowed you to pick from espresso to macchiato to americano. Pottery coffee mugs with the Inn’s image on it were out to use. Breakfasts were not only scrumptious, but they were also beautifully plated. We enjoyed our stay so much. We weren’t ready to have to say goodbye. Alicia, thank you for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!
