We were in Ashburn to visit family. Our family stays at Hilton properties many times per year and we don’t expect luxury from a Homewood Suites, but this property is not up to standard. I will list the problems we encountered in just one night stay. Side property door doesn’t close and lock. A serious safety issue. And our room door also didn’t lock upon closure. We had to push it shut each time. No soap in the kitchen or bathroom to wash hands. No trash can in the bathroom. Kitchen sink leaked. Refrigerator had rusty shelves. No digital key. And they charge $15 to park in a suburban travel sports style hotel parking lot. Insanity. We will search for a better property when returning to visit our family.

No desk agent - had to walk over to embassy suites - told them I accidentally made the reservation for a week out and I needed to cancel the one a week out and book a new one for that night, still no cancellation of the accidental booking and no response from the hotel - when you call the front desk it just rings and rings and rings no matter if you call the embassy suites or the Homewood suites - I will say the women who checked me in was incredibly nice and kind but I am very disappointed my reservation cancellation wasn’t handled

No help!
Upon entering hotel, no one was at the front desk and we had to wait. Once in the room we discovered there were no towels in the bathroom which required another lengthy trip to the front desk. Once again no one was at the front desk. A sign directed us to walk down to the connecting hotel for assistance.

Anytime we travel we always look for bedbugs because we know how common it is to get them and very glad that we do as we found one (dead) in the pull out sofa bed. Explained to front desk and they quickly gave us a new room. The new room was bug free (I hope anyway) but it was not the cleanest. It had built up dirt and oil on the surfaces. There were no extra bedding for the pull out couch so we called down for it but it was never brought up so had to physically walk down to it. The TV just randomly stopped playing the ONE Channel we were trying to watch. It wasnt all bad as the breakfast was good and parking was not an issue at all. Also, the staff was very friendly.

Im not sure why there are negative reviews about this hotel. I can only share my 2 day stay here and it was very nice. Any staff I interacted with were pleasant and friendly. Check in was easy. The lobby and halls and elevator were very clean and refreshed. My studio room (302)was clean and had everything you needed. Yes, there were some minor maintenance issues and scuffs on the furniture and walls but far from bothersome. My only minor complaint was it was time for new bedding. The duvet coverlette thing had a lot of pulls and strings hanging from it and the mattress was not terrible, just not the most comfortable.
Oh, and parking fee was refunded at check out so no big deal.
All in all, a very nice stay.
Oh, also, maybe think about keeping coffee available after 10am. ☕️
