Beechenhill Farm

Beechenhill Farm is a fantastic countryside escape! The secluded cottage was a perfect family getaway. With a great cozy feel and beautiful features, and a lovely log fire for relaxing evenings. A peaceful and charming retreat! Thank you for hosting us.

We had the most wonderful stay at Beechenhill. Alex was incredibly welcoming right from the start and made us feel really comfortable. From the moment we stepped in the cottage we felt really welcome and relaxed. A beautiful sponge cake was left for us on the table along with fresh milk in the fridge. The cottage was immaculately cleaned and had everything we could have needed and more. The views from the cottage were spectacular, watching the sheep with their lambs and the views of the rolling hills were incredible. Sitting outside on our first night with a bottle of Prosecco and a slice of cake watching the sunset made for a great start to the holiday. We went on many walks during our stay, we would recommend exploring Dovedale, Thorpe Cloud, Carsington Waters and Milldale. We would highly recommend Polly’s Cottage at Milldale - wonderful ice cream at really good prices. We also recommend The Bowling Green in Ashbourne - we had a wonderful meal here. Once we had finished our walks, we were able to relax in the gardens of Beechenhill overlooking the rolling hills. On our final day we were treated to the hot tub by our family. This was an incredible experience, we were delivered a hamper of Prosecco, handmade chocolates and robes. The hot tub is wood fired and has the cutest little hide away next to it with a log burner and multiple tea lights in it. It felt magical. I would highly recommend anyone saying at Beechenhill to enjoy the hot tub experience as it was just wonderful! We spoke to Alex multiple times over our stay and she was always so lovely, accommodating and happy to help us with any questions we had. We will absolutely be returning to Beechenhill in the future! Even in a dull November weekend standing in the retired farmyard situated practically at the summit of the Peak District left one with a sense tranquility and relaxation. Beechenhill does peace and quiet outdoors together with a luxuriously warm indoors always ready to take you back into your cottage. We had a really enjoyable weekend and the birthdays (for the oldies) went well. Alex is providing a really top quality venue. Her welcome was further warmed by the provision of a freshly baked Victoria sponge cake. Recommendation. Book it!
