What a great place, what they lack in amenities they more than make up for with the absolutely most friendly service available. The rooms are very clean, some are air conditioned so make sure you ask for one, right on the beach just walk out back and you are there. Breakfast is included in the stay and you can't get a better omelet. They will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable the rooms are very big all beds have mosquito netting. They have free wi-fi that is steady and quick enough to Skype/FaceTime. Just know that they do not accept credit cards but the rooms are incredible cheap!

Clean room, big room, the people are really nice and helpful, have restaurant in the hotel. We got great room with hot water and air conditioner. They can get you a toktok or take you to safari. Been here for 4 nights and we enjoyed a lot from this place

This is to recommend the BEST Club Sandwich in Arugam Bay. The fries are the best as well. We have eaten at a great number of restaurants for many months here but East Beach Surf Resort is the winner ! Fantastic!

Excellent hotel. Room with a large bed, clean. There is hot water, which was a pleasant surprise after the hotel in Ella)) Breakfast is included. At the same time, if you want to cook something yourself, you can do that too. Or they’ll even cook it for you. Pleasant and polite staff. We are pleased with our stay, 2 minutes to the beach, the ocean is visible from the balcony. There is Wi-Fi. Nice owner!

Excellent service with friendly staff and a beautiful sea view. Ice cold air conditioning as well! Mosquito net and free wifi as well as a killer free breakfast before you head off for the surf. Highly recommend :)

Rude and misogynistic owner, rooms not clean, cockroaches. We were moved to a service room the last night. The room smells musty and it is clear that hygiene is lacking. Be careful, the photos on the website of the rooms ABSOLUTELY DO NOT reflect reality!

This place is nowhere near the standard that it should be at the price you're paying. I arrived here to a strange and uneasy welcome from the boss, to walk upstairs behind the restaurant to my 'Deluxe AC Room' that was nothing like advertised. The room is clean enough but extremely basic and looks nothing like the photos, the AC cuts out and you aren't allowed to keep it running. There is no sea view like advertised, nor beach access, nor any of the other amenities described. The owner also wanted me to pay the whole stay upfront in cash on arrival, so be prepared for this. The restaurant was extremely slow and yet served me lukewarm, unfresh food. I decided to leave before staying even the first night, it is essentially a run down motel that is worth absolutely nowhere near the price they are charging (you can stay in much lovelier elsewhere in A'bay). I would not recommend staying here.
