The environment is very good by the water, and the insects are very powerful at night

It’s a fine hotel, simple but friendly staff except for the sullen youth at the desk. Even he wasn’t to bad.

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel on 22/10/24 for 1 night DBB. We were greeted at reception by the Manager and lovely staff member who instantly made us feel welcome and informed us of meal times etc. our room was on the first floor and we were pleasantly surprised with the modern decor and cleanliness of the room, room had a lovely view of Arrochar main St. we had dinner in the lovely bar area with beautiful views over loch long and the mountains, there was a fantastic menu choice from traditional, Italian and vegetarian, we opted for the beautiful garlic prawns to start from the Italian menu and a burger and scampi from the traditional menu which was presented beautifully and included in our room rate. We had a great sleep and the bed was comfortable with a nice soft fluffy duvet and pillows. The hotel was immaculate and clean and all staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother for them. Breakfast was served in the dining room with a great choice of buffet continental breakfast and also a full cooked Scottish breakfast cooked to order which was delicious and again all included in our room rate. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you to the manager and staff.

The worst hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in. The whole place needs gutting if it's to remain in business. No lift for the less mobile and stairs to the restaurant! Don't get me started on the 'Cleanliness ',it's a nightmare! I've stayed in cleaner and more welcoming hotels in some of the poorest countries, perhaps they value their guests and don't take them for granted.

When me and my husband arrived we were expecting the worst after reading all the reviews on trip advisor. We had paid £99 for dinner, bed and breakfast. When we arrived Amanda on reception was very welcoming. Our room as basic but clean. A couple of spiders webs on the bathroom celling but everywhere was clean. We didn't have a remote for the TV but that didn't matter we used the buttons on the TV. The room was cold on arrival but didn't take long to heat up when we put the heater on. This is an old building but the decor was absolutely fine in the bar and restaurant. We headed down to the reception to ask where we go for diner and told to go to the bar. This was a little disorganised I felt as no one knew what they were to do and not sure why dinner wasn'tin the restaurantmaybe they were short staffed. Anyway just asked at the bar and Andy told us to take a menu and just place an order at the bar. The menu was a set menu with 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 puddings available. We chose the steak pie which was a large portion and was lovely. It would have been nice to have a bit of music in the background in the bar as it felt like everyone was thinking the same thing that you could cut the atmosphere with a knive. Anyway things soon got better when the singer came on at 8.30. Everyone had a great night singing and dancing. The bar shut at 12 which was fine. Breakfast this morning we had the full Scottish and it was lovely. Flo was welcoming and then we checked out. At check out I asked about the Sauna and hot tub to which I was told the hot tub was only for room 46 as it came as a package deal. I had recieved an email saying the hot tub was closed to to essential maintenance so essentially its a selling point and is not for everyone to use. I feel that this should have been made clear but who really wants to share a hot tub with anyone else anyway. So go try it for yourself we had a great time and met some lovely people while there. The bed was comfy enough but pillows were hard but gain that's people's own preference.

After reading some horrendous reviews of The Loch Long Hotel, I thought it would be amusing to stay there for the one night. This is what happened........... I booked one night, arriving on Saturday 12th October. I paid £60.00GBP for room only, and I made a reservation for the Hotel Restaurant for 6.30pm. We looked at the Menu for The Restaurant Online, the Theme for The Restaurant was Italian, I was Looking forwards to a Carbonara. My Wife and I arrived in Arrochar a few Hours before check in, (Check In is at 3pm) We decided to have Lunch in Ben Arthur's Bothy, this was a Five Minute walk from The Loch Long Hotel. I had The Steak and Sausage Pie and My wife had the Burger and Fries. The food was delicious well cooked and presented, at a reasonable cost. After lunch, at Ben Arthur's Bothy, we thought we would go to the Hotel an see if they would check us in One and a Half Hours Early, walking up to the Hotel, on my right, I could see the Sauna and the Hot Tub. The Steam Room , looked like a decompression chamber, we were sent a message, when we booked the room, that the Hot Tub was out of order. No information regarding the Steam Room The reception area was clean and tidy, and I felt a little less nervous about stating the night. I went to the Reception, too see if I could check in early, The Receptionist, was not the most enthusiastic, receptionist that I have encountered, but she did check us in early. I noticed a small pool table in reception, so I decided to have a game of Pool then go to my room. Although, the Pool table was free, there was no chalk so, there really is no point in playing Pool, without chalk. as, my wife and I were playing Pool, a couple went over to Reception and was asking the Receptionist the same questions we were asking about the Steam Room, and was given a different answer to the one we were given. so, we just went to find our Room. I was in Room 108, no views of Loch Long as we were at the back of the Hotel, overlooking the staff accommodation. Room 108 is a small room, with a small Double bed, right next to the en suite toilet and shower, on the plus side there was a Bath over the Shower, but with the Bed Being so close to the Toilet, you could hear everything going on in there ! On the plus side. The room was clean, the en suite facilities were clean I was very pleased to discover Welcome biscuits and Tea and Coffee, in proper ceramic mugs. What let down Room 108 was the Bed was very uncomfortable, there was some sort of protector sheet under the Valance sheet but it was quilted so, it made for a "Lumpy" feeling when you were trying to sleep in it. My last complaint was the Pillows ! Cheap Hollow Fibre pillows, very uncomfortable ! Later that Evening My Wife and I decided, to go to the Bar for a drink, before we went to the Restaurant for our 6.30 Reservation. At 6.15 we made our way over the The Restaurant and it was closed, all the lights were off. so, I went to The Reception and asked a man in a

We stayed at this awful hotel from the 4th - 11th of October, on a coach holiday from the south west scottish borders with Telfords coach holidays (Newcastleton) Except for the downstairs main public areas, this hotel is filthy, shabby and in an awful state of disrepair. All our pillows were yellow sweat stained filthy stinking awful. the window curtains looked like stained rags of hessian, and were ill fitting. the bathroom was damp and mould spores on the ceiling, sink no plug, bath no plug, and shower just oozed out drips, it was so congealed with scales. The filthy cheap carpet was just that, and engrained with dirt, and loads and loads of black hair all over it. This was the second room, after which we were told no other rooms available, all booked up. Lift was not working, and after reading others experiences, it's been out of action for months!! The food was okay, with dinner being the best meal of the day. Breakfast, well if you ever get a breakfast like their site photos, then you'll have done better than us. 1/2 rasher of bacon, 1/2 a tomato, eggs, yes can have two!! Black pudding, a small tasteless barely cooked sausage, and washy baked beans!! However the whole place is terrible, different sets of stairs in all directions, with A4 paper printed signs here and there. The manager was arrogant, and beyond belief, very argumentative of you challenge him, and I did. the rest of the staff are hard working, and very helpful. This hotel seems to be indian ,managed and staffed, with some local staff here and there, but I do emphasize some!! most indian room staff spoke english very poorly, although smiling, you could tell they hadn't understood your questions, or requests. It took the hotel 2 days to change our filthy sweat stained pillows for new, and 3 days to clean our room carpet. none of the bedding was changed during our 4 night stay, I repeat none!! I urge any traveller to PLEASE consider other hotels, do not stay in this Loch Long hotel, or you'll be so bitterly disappointed !!!

Without being too disrespectful to previous reviews anyone who gives this hotel 5 stars is either reviewing the wrong hotel or easily pleased because after what I experienced regarding cleanliness, staff attitude, food and even parking is a far cry from being 5 stars.
