My friend and I were staying in Marrakesh for a few days but wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and chaos of the city and go into the mountains for one night. Our riad in Marrakesh arranged a night at the Atlas Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There may be other ways of reaching it, but we hiked about 45 mins or so from the main road down in (much more touristy) Imlil. Sayid and his family were wonderful hosts. I can't say enough good things about them- just very nice, kind people. We had lunch on the rooftop terrace, with incredible views of the atlas mountains. Dinner (delicious tagine) and an excellent breakfast were served indoors. The lodge is a fairly simple place without many bells and whistles, but what it does, it does well. Be aware that the village is very small and has few businesses. Imlil will have everything you need, though.
