Very disappointing experience. We booked directly with City Centre Motel in Armidale as a halfway stop while travelling to a parent’s funeral. Our young son became critically ill and needed emergency surgery and a lengthy hospital stay, so we had to cancel. I called the motel before 11am on the day of the booking. The male receptionist was understanding and confirmed we would be refunded minus admin fees. I even received a cancellation confirmation. But the next day, I received a “thank you for your stay” email, and when I followed up, a different receptionist was rude, dismissive, and told me no refund would be given—completely denying the previous conversation. We were later told about a 24-hour cancellation policy that was never mentioned before. If it had been, we would’ve transferred the booking to another family member. Poor internal communication, conflicting information, and zero compassion during a family crisis. We won’t be returning and don’t recommend it.

Convenient location and nicely refurbished rooms and a reasonable price for the Easter longweekend. Family room was comfortable and suited us well, but could have been much cleaner. Very dusty room. Visable dust on the light switches, cobwebs in the bathroom and on the rangehood for the kitchennette. Cutlery and glasses in the kitchennette were visably dirty. We washed all the plates, cups, cutlery, pots and pans before using anything and had to dust and wipe down the shelves before putting our groceries away. Didn't do a daily clean service despite putting the hanger on the door to make up the room.

We didn't spend alot of time at the Motel but it was clean, nice space and the beds were comfortable. Would stay again if travelling through Armadale.

The room was very nice but the outside and the public areas were very tired.
It is positioned well only a block from town and surrounded by historical buildings.
The complimentary continental breakfast was bleak and poorly presented.
I think the property’s presentation in all areas outside the lovely room could do will love and more pride especially the reception area, the restaurant and the internal courtyard area.

Close to the centre of Armidale, while an older style motel the upgrade of the unit has been well done. Very comfortable.
