Placemakr Marymount Ballston

The room looked very nice, the public spaces are lovely, the staff were friendly, and I loved that it had a kitchen and washing machine in the room, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again because it’s just not designed for actual sleep. Half of one wall is windows, which is nice during the day but there are no blackout curtains, just cheap blinds, that let light through, so I was up with the sun at 6 every morning. (This has been noted by others in older reviews, and it’s a big complaint to ignore.) I was also up late one night in particular, because the walls are so thin that noise from people in hallways and outside on the street can get very loud if people are talking and partying late at night (and nobody at the front desk was able to effectively do anything about the hall noise when it was reporting repeatedly to them). More minor of an issue is that the only comfortable place to sit in my room was either a chair or the bed, there was no couch, even though there was space for this. The overall concept was nice for a hotel/apartments, but no amount of amenities can make up for not being able to sleep.

Great rooms, service from staff was a bit unfriendly

When I checked in to my room, it was not up to par and had a weird smell like something was burning. When I informed the front desk Receptionist Erica- she took care of it right away! She even upgraded my room! Give her a raise! Great customer service!!

Every time that I visit I know that I'm in good hands, especially when Erica is at the Reception desk! She's customer obsessed and it shows!
