Kefalonia Grand

This hotel, despite the excellent reviews, Is certainly not 4*. The location was excellent & we had a balcony over looking the sea, so no problem there. We had paid far more for this hotel than usual, so expected a higher standard. How disappointing! The rooms are very small & you can hear conversations in the next room. We had a damaged hairdryer & a rusty fridge. Before we arrived I had contacted the hotel when realising there was no pool & was told that arrangements could be made to take us to another hotel for a swim. Not so! When we arrived were told we would have to either find a beach or get our own taxi. What we were most disappointed with were the breakfast selection with cold meats, cheese, butter & yoghurt not in or on a chilled shelf/cabinet & left sitting on a table in the heat. We could not fault the staff who were very friendly & helpful. We having been travelling overseas at least twice a year for the last 30 & have never complained, so make of that what you will!!

Just had a week at the kefalonia boutique hotel and could not fault anything ! The room had a view of the port , that was very nice. The room was spacious , clean and had various shower wash , shampoo etc replaced daily free of charge. Breakfast was amazing with full continental and a menu for eggs cooked anyway you like ,again all included in the cost . All of the staff were polite,welcoming , friendly and very helpful . Location is perfect for all local restaurants and the beach was a short taxi ride at 8 euros. Don’t forget to see the turtles at 9.30 am opposite the hotel , I will be returning next year !

Just had a lovely stay in this hotel for 2 weeks lovely sitting having breakfast facing the harbour and sitting in the evening having a drink all staff very friendly from reception, waiting staff in a morning always nice and polite and the cleaning lady doing our room everyday we was there they all work very hard ,breakfast very nice different to the usual breakfast, greek yoghurt ,pancakes ,omelette fresh fruit bread & pastries would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again

This hotel was great with very friendly staff. The breakfast was lovely with a menu for cooked food which was waiter service and also the option of cereals, and continental breakfast too with croissants, cheeses, fruit, and much more. Pavlos and Martina were really efficient and attentive and friendly and smiley at breakfast. The reception staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful we dealt mainly with Olga and Cassandra and they were very nice, friendly and informative. The lady who cleaned our room did a great job keeping us well stocked with toiletries and clean towels every day. She was always very cheerful and friendly. We had slippers and bathrobes in our room which was a nice treat. We paid extra for a sea view room but it was well worth it, the view was spectacular there was a bit of traffic noise but it did quieten down after about 11.00pm again this didn't bother us either. The reception area is bright, clean and modern, the room was a little small as was the bathroom but that didn't bother us. We would recommend this hotel.

We chose to stay at the Kefalonia Grand for the 5 days around our wedding and what a stay it was. The staff are so friendly and incredibly helpful. Rooms are kept clean and fresh. The views from the rooms at the front of the hotel are truly excellent. The only slight (very slight) challenge we had was when checking out, one of the charges was wrong for one of the rooms. The lady on reception though did all she could to help and eventually the error was rectified. This was a minor poiny. All in all an absolutely brilliant stay. We can't wait to stay again when we come back.

We have just got home from a perfect week at the Kefalonia Grand Hotel. The hotel is absolutely lovely and in a beautiful area facing the harbour. We had a double room with a balcony and it was brilliant, we had everything we needed n the room including a fridge. The toiletries were the best I've ever had, they smelt divine! We made use of the balcony at night and morning. The room was kept very clean by a really lovely housekeeping lady! She was very bubbly and replenished the toiletries and towels daily. The receptionists are amazing and very welcoming and helpful! We received welcome drinks on our arrival which were lovely! The food and drinks are delicious and served by some really lovely waiters and waitresses who are so happy and cheerful and really look after you! They work long hours but are constantly happy and smiley. The hotel itself is lovely with beautiful decor. I am so pleased that we chose to stay there, it was the most perfect setting for our holiday and completed our perfect week. I honestly would recommend the Kefalonia Grand Hotel. We will definitely be back and will recommend it to our family and friends!

Lovely hotel with great staff. Breakfast was really good with both a continental buffet and a menu to chose hot food from. Special mention to Martina and Pavlosh who served us at breakfast, both very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We ate from the evening menu on one night which was also very nice and reasonably priced. And the cocktails were delicious The location is great for exploring the island and for seeing the turtles every morning. No pool or beach close by but this didn't bother us. The hotel and rooms are spotless and staff on reception are lovely. A great week and we will definitely be back.

Avoid these reservation crooks!! . They will take reservations and payments for your chosen room but when you arrive they will casually give you another room and hope you don’t notice it is not the room you booked. They have another trick of trying to convince you the room they have allocated is an upgrade because it’s two square meters larger Or convince you that is you staring your neck you can see the sea somewhere for it is a sea view room- which it most definitely not. . Get rid of the reservations department as they are giving your hotel a bad name which is a pity because the hotel is beautiful and the breakfast staff is amazing. Daily, guests are fighting with reception because the reservations teams have totally messed up the bookings. This is certainly not the way guests want to start their holiday. As said- pity your reservations department has pulled this hotel name through the mud.

We were so excited to be staying at this hotel but sadly on our arrival we were told our room wasn’t available as the previous occupants were sick and couldn’t be moved ! They had nowhere to put us ! We had to go to another hotel in lassi for a few days. The reception staff were hopeless to say the least no manager anywhere to be seen. After a lot of work by our jet2 rep we eventually arrived at the kefalonia grand only to be told the room we had paid for ( a suite with a sea view) didn't exist and had never existed !!! We now could only have a room with a side view. We were furious our holiday was one fiasco after another ! Reluctantly we took it after we had no other choice ! We noticed that other guests were having the same problem not getting rooms they had booked and paid for or rooms being small and substandard. Honestly on reading previous reviews I wondered if we were at the same hotel ! On the plus side the morning breakfast staff were outstanding and maybe management and reception staff should take a leaf out their book ! A good spot to explore kefalonia but I would check and double check to make sure you know what you’re getting before you arrive.
