Wow! What a wonderful stay we have had in Kefalonia an absolutely stunning Island and a beautiful hotel to stay in! We had a one bedroom apartment which was great for us as a family of 4, room was cleaned daily. We enjoyed breakfast each morning, plenty of choice & things alternated each day like little quiches one day, omelettes the next. The staff were all amazing, reception, bar, at breakfast, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had lunch a few times at the pool bar which was lovely & enjoyed the bar. The pool area is beautiful, never overcrowded, plenty of space & peaceful. We enjoyed the bbq & Greek dancing night. The views were just wow! They never tired, being in the pool looking out to the sea & other island, our balcony view, walking to breakfast it was all stunning. Yes it is on a very steep hill, we have a 4yr old & 19month so in a buggy, coming down was fine, we never actually timed it but maybe 10mins. We did tackle it up a couple of times, it was tough especially in the heat but we did say if it was just us without the kids we would have tackled it more often but cabs were only €8 coming up & worth every penny! The walk to the restaurants is probably about 15mins, plenty of choices & we never had a bad meal, choices of cocktail bars to drink in too. There is a supermarket just at the bottom of the hill too. We went to Makris Gialos beach which was about 15min walk… wow, the water was crystal clear so beautiful. If going with children don’t go in the first entrance as lots of steps to get down and back up walk along to where it says Costa Costa and is a slope so easier. We hired a car for a day which was €60 and went up the north side which was just stunning & we’re so glad we got to see more of the beautiful island. Overall such a wonderful holiday and we’d highly recommend staying here.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel. Spotlessly clean, simply furnished rooms with a very comfortable bed and always hot water. The staff were all lovely and worked very hard. Breakfast was more than sufficient with a good choice, especially the pancakes. The views from all rooms and areas of the hotel are stunning. Although there's a steep hill to climb to get these views! Walking down to the main drag is, at the most, 10 minutes and 15 or so going up - depending on your fitness. It helps burn off the holiday food and drink. Taxis are easily available and can be booked at reception if necessary. There's a bus stop to Argostoli at the bottom of the hill for €2 although not too frequent. Otherwise by taxi for €7.

Returned this week from Dionysos and it was so good we've booked to go back next year. The grounds, pool area and rooms are immaculate. Rooms cleaned every day. All the staff are lovely and work so hard. The options for breakfast were perfect for me. The food at the pool bar was good. We already knew about the hotel being situated on a hill as we stayed in a hotel nearby last year. There are taxis at the bottom of the hill and it costs €7. There is no charge for the safe and air conditioning is €7 a day.

Everything is excellent here. Up the hill with great view of sea and Lixouri. Pool area amazing with plenty of loungers. Breakfast is great and well worth 11€ per person. Beds are comfortable & spacious. Hotel is low rise & modern. Only potential negative for some is you really need a car. Restaurants aren’t really walkable. You can do it but I wouldn’t Taxi to town is 6-7€ each way so that will add up. Our car was $26/day from the airport so worth having a car here anyway.

So that's another holiday over and yes it was great yet again. But there are some staff changes (Cleaners and Pool Bar cooks, also groundsman assistant), but if this is your first time at Dionysos you wouldn't even notice. The rooms are cleaned every day and fresh towels and bed linen are changed every two days. The pool area and bar area are washed down every other mornings or most days. In the morning you can help yourselves to breakfast and there is a good selection off food. The Pool Bar menu is adequate, they have a dinner menu (midday to 5-pm) and an evening menu (5-pm to 9:30pm). The gardens are kept in an excellent condition. On Monday's the Greek BBQ night is a MUST. For just 25€ you get the offering of salad, differnt meats, rice and much more. And then their's the wonderful Greek Music and dancers, so do go. Then you also have the wonderful bar men serving drinks. So if you go this year Yamos 🍺

We stayed as a group of 9 friends and family June 3rd 2025. The whole experience was amazing . This is a small family run hotel with high standards and very welcoming . We arrived at reception with a lovely warm welcome by staff and milky the kitten. The rooms were lovely ( a big thank you to the two young lads who cleaned our rooms . They were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble). The pool area and layout of the hotel is great. Never struggled to get a sun bed. Breakfast is excellent with all freshly cooked food and fresh fruit grown on site ( thank you to the cook and kitchen staff). The food at the pool bar was outstanding ( thank you to the lady there , sorry didn't catch your name ) . Bar staff were lovely ....(Babis ...Rancho says Hi! ....Babis took care of us and we all had a really good laugh). The hotel site is really well maintained with excellent views. Very comfortable and relaxing . The hill ...as many mention is steep but doable if you psych yourself up for a walk. But if you aren't able to walk it, the reception staff will call you a taxi , 8 euros. The beach is at the bottom of the hill pver the road . Car hire is cheap and lassi has many excellent restaurants as an alternative. However, you do not need to move off the hotel site as it has everything you need and is excellent in every way Dionysis village hotel....thank you for a really enjoyable holiday .

Another superb week at this gem of a place!. Firstly the owners Dennis and Maria make sure everything is spot on for you theyre just great hoteliers! The staff across the whole place are superb! Bar staff are great and go out their way for you. Lovely food both day & night! The weekly BBQ is fantastic and a good greek dancing show also around the pool. Rooms spotless, cleaned regularly, stunning views, gorgeous sunsets. Whilst we was there a wedding was on, it was absolutely gorgeous and looked out of this world! we loved having our evening meal by the pool whilst listening to the SAX player at the wedding! We hired a car with greek stones never a problem with these guys and good value as well, gets you up and down the hill with supermarket trips, trips out to lassi main ***** and argostoli. Food again in Lassi superb, shout out to Blue Sky, Zorba's, Tanu's, plus if your after a decent cocktail try BAR ONE! or Hotel Irilena both AMAZING COCKTAILS! Bit & Bite for Ice creams! or a Giro! Going into argostoli 7am see the sea turtles in the harbour is lovely, go back at night it comes alive in the square we had meals at Pizza Al Forno BE WARNED they are HUGE! but delicious, and a must try is The Hidden Garden the food from the Spit is AWESOME! So all in all another fab holiday to Kefalonia and a fab time yet again at Dionysos! See you next year! BOOKED ALREADY!

Just returned from yet another fabulous time at the Dionysos. The hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill but this is well compensated for by what must be some of the most fantastic views in the world. The owner is a gentleman who is always available to meet and greet guests and offer as much help and advice as maybe required,a lovely man. The staff are all gorgeous but special mention to MARIA and DOROTHEA on reception, nothing was too much trouble to them and Maria had us falling about laughing with her sense of humour, very charming lady. Don’t let the steep hill put you off as taxis up and down to Lassi are very cheap. The Monday evening Bar - B Q night was unforgettable and featured Greek dancing and terrific live Greek music and soon had all the guests dancing the night away. Cannot wait for our return visit to this beautiful Ionian paradise.
