Gran Sagitario

My daughter and I had a wonderful week at Gran Sagitario in Cala Santandria. The hotel was amazing, meeting all our expectations. Really peaceful quiet location, and the atmosphere of hotel reflected this. We stayed in room 204, overlooking the pool but far enough away not to be disturbed by noise. The rooms were super clean with everything we needed, fridge, safe, kettle and drinks making bits, hairdryer. Shower was amazing! The dining options were top notch, all really fresh and well cooked, lots of meat, fish and vegetables and fruit every day. So many options, from little tapas style to freshly cooked meats and fish and locally sourced produce. Really nothing to complain about and having intended to explore local restaurants we didn't bother as the hotel food was so delicious. The poolside bar was lovely, serving drinks throughout the day and al la carte lunch menu, the pork sandwich deserves a special mention! Reception staff were really helpful with all of our questions, booking taxis for us and arranging a takeaway breakfast for an early check out. Must mention Evangeline for whom nothing was too much, and always with a smile. She even held an umbrella over us to our coach on the final day, getting drenched in the process. Truly above and beyond. Easy reach to Ciutadella by bus or taxi and walks down the coast to nearby Cala Blanca. A lovely hotel if you're after a quiet relaxing holiday.

I have to agree with almost everything that has been written about this hotel, yes it is kept in a spotless condition, staff are really friendly and overall a really well run hotel. Entertainment in the evening is low key and I would suggest is geared more towards the more mature guests without the usual annoying base vibrating around the hotel, likewise the music around the pool area is perfect. Sun beds always available around the pool and great to have a rule in the hotel "no putting out towels and saving sunbeds" likewise no hanging towels and wet swimwear over balconies, this rule broken unfortunately by a minority of British guests!!. Plenty of choices of food in the hotel restaurant, but again in agreement with other reviewers at times the food could be quite cold. I would give the hotel a five star rating apart from one minor point.. The restaurant in the hotel is more like a works canteen which could be easily rectified with a little dimmed lighting and a few pictures on the walls to take away the clinical look that it currently has... If you like the sun on your room then I would suggest avoiding if possible rooms 234 236 and the rooms above or below those rooms as they get no sun whatsoever on the balconies. Apart from that I would recommend this hotel for a quiet holiday in a quiet location in Minorca.

We don't often return to the same hotel again but have been drawn back to the Gran Sagitario! The hotel is beautifully modern and in a quiet location. Rooms are thoroughly clean and the beds comfy. The showers are powerful! The food is really great -and has been consistently so - on our three holidays to date. Jesus who manages the restaurant is a great asset to the hotel being especially friendly and helpful. We also liked the local produce such as the cheeses and paellas that were part of the food offering. The pool bar menu has great pizza, cocktails and Menorcan ice-cream at prices compaprable with the UK. A lot of French guests (in May 2024) seem to hire cars to explore the island so it is often quiet around the pool, much less so much when there are more Brits staying (like October 2023). You can easily walk to Cala Blanca and the small local beach at Cala Santandria is literally 2 minuted walk down the road. We walked into Ciutadella several times and also used the local buses. The hotel organised a taxi for us to visit Lithica too. A great holiday!

This is a super hotel. The bedrooms are a good size, the pool area is great with a good lunchtime menu, the staff are so helpful and the cleaning team are the best I've ever seen - everywhere was spotless. The breakfasts were excellent, so much choice and everything was beautifully fresh - special thanks to the omelette chef. The hotel is in a quiet residential area but Ciutadella (the old capital) is onlyna short taxi ride away (about €8) and there is a selection of bars/restaurants in Cala Blanca - a 15/20 minute walk. A couple of grumbles. The pool towels are too small and only cover half of the bed so uncomfortable and a bit unhygienic. They either need bigger towels or allow two towels per guest. The hotel is super modern but the dining room is so stark it is more like a canteen and not where you want a special evening. And in the bedroom there is no door into the bathroom, just a doorway so this might cause privacy or dignity issues for some guests.

my partner and i came to the hotel in September 2024 - we loved it and had the most relaxing time. the spa was lovely and the staff were great - very gracious and friendly. the room was clean and spacious - the shower worked well and the bed was comfy. the balcony was nice and the aircon worked well. the tv had British channels too which was a bonus. the food was great - we tried a variety of foods that we wouldn't normally have tried. they had so many nice options and we were always full afterwards. the pool restaurant was good too - we ordered lunch there by the pool and were very impressed both times. the location was fab - we walked to Ciutadella multiple times but you could also get the bus or a taxi. would defo recommend!!

Really good hotel. The cleanest we've ever stayed in. Staff are excellent, special shout out for Xavi at the pool bar. The only negative is the food is never hot. At breakfast it's actually cold. However, we would still revisit. The resort is quiet but to be honest we actually enjoyed that.

The Gran Sagitario is a lovely hotel with many positives. This review is my personal opinion of the good and not so good. The hotel is relatively new so overall is in a very good condition and a majority of the areas are clean and well kept. The standard double bedroom was a good size, beds are comfortable, rooms are equipped with a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. I would personally recommend a high floor and away from the restaurant as I can imagine it being quite noisy at dining times. The cleaning staff are very noisy, I know they have a job to do and they do it well but slamming doors, dropping equipment and dragging furniture early in the morning when guests are trying to sleep is annoying. The variety of food offered in the restaurant for dinner was good. Although not always hot. If you arrive late for dinner, after 8.45pm, not all dishes are available and chef will not replenish when asked, which is disappointing. The ambience was a little like a canteen but overall the restaurant is good. Unfortunately breakfast was a huge disappointment. There was a decent selection of fruit, pastries and typical English breakfast but it all lacked quality, variety and was luke warm at best. The drinks service at the bar was incredibly slow. The bar staff like to take your order and ask you to sit o the lounge area, however they would often forget your order or take 25 minutes to bring the drinks over to your table. The evening entertainment was excellent, every act we saw was very good. The spa was very chilled. It would be a nice touch to offer a glass of water after a massage but not a big deal. The location of the hotel is great if you want to have a stroll and visit some local places. The hotel seems to be located in a residential area, there are a few bars and restaurants dotted around.
