Zafiro Menorca

Upon arrival this hotel seems very well appointed. The communal areas are immaculate with lush foliage and a number of different pools to keep hotel guests busy. It is a bit of a walk to get to some of the hotel rooms but the rooms themselves are furnished to a high standard, only complaint was that they could be a bit bigger. My main problem with this hotel is it's absolute lack of regard for it's customers. Unfortunately, on the second to last day of our stay my 2 year old son contracted pharyngitis and had to be hospitalised on a drip. This was a very horrendous experience and not something I'd wish for anyone, especially whilst on holiday. The morning my son had to go to hospital I was a bit late coming down for breakfast because he had vomited all over the bed so we had to remove the sheets and give them to the cleaner. My husband had to take my younger son to hospital whilst I remained at the hotel with my older son (4 years). As I mentioned we were slightly late for breakfast. When we arrived they were closing the buffet but it was 2 minutes to closing time and I asked for a fried egg for my son and they basically refused, even though it was 2 minutes exactly to closing. I think this is totally unacceptable given that there were still 2 minutes left and especially after the ordeal I had just been through with my younger son. I asked to speak to the manager to complain. He was very rude and arrogant. He did not want to apologise or even take on board my feedback, probably because of my age / gender. I would never visit this hotel again. The manager does not care about the welfare of his guests and the breakfast staff were very rude and uncaring

Great hotel for a family holiday! Let down by sporadic room cleaning! Garden Room with hammock was lovely. Plenty of pools with plenty of sun beds. Marina a 10 minute walk away had nice bars and restaurants. The buffet restaurant was good and the pool bar food was adequate.

This is the second time we have visited Zafiro Menorca this year. First in August and then in October during half term. What sets this hotel part from other hotels is the staff. They are the nicest, attentive, hardworking and caring staff I’ve ever met. Nothing at all is too much trouble from the reception staff to the dining staff, pool and bar staff snd house keeping and maintainence staff. October was much quieter than August, however, the high standards stayed the same. Food was varied and lovely at the restaurant. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. Pool bar food was amazing. Varied and cooked quickly. We were all inclusive for both trips with drinks and cocktails included. The cocktails are some of the best I've tasted and the frozen Pomada was out of this world. We had a garden room which was clean and big enough for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) . The room was cleaned daily and the main bed is extremely comfortable. The kids club is aimed at under 12's but my teenagers happily joined in the pool games in the summer and were happy to chill by the pool in October. Entertainment was varied, some nights better than others but the animation team were enthusiastic and got everyone involved. The outdoor pools were lovely in the summer. They were a bit chilly in October, however thats to be expected and we still managed a swim. We also used the indoor pool which was lovely and clean. We left Zafiro Menorca on the last day of the season. We could see work was commencing for the next season. We look forward to returning next year and seeing any changes. We have just returned from Zafiro Menorca this weekend, we had an amazing time, rooms are modern and kept very clean, reception is very welcoming and friendly, pools we brilliant and kept spotless. Restaurant and pool bar was fantastic food was really food and a good choice, drinks are served in glasses at the bars but if you take away they are in a plastic cup which makes perfect sense! Entertainment team are amazing and make sure everyone is included! We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back next year!

This was our second visit to Zafiro Menorca and with a lot of negative comments over the summer, I had started to wonder if we’d made the right decision in returning. However, from the moment we got off the coach, I just felt at home. From check in through to check out, every single staff member was friendly and attentive. This hotel is an excellent choice for families with primary school aged children and younger. The entertainment team (Jose, Christian, Pau, Miriam and Giorgia) were absolutely incredible and made our children feel so special and have the absolute best time. The activities throughout the day, mini disco and then activity in the evening were all varied and suited most children’s likes. Some special touches with things to take home and even a medal which my little boy has cherished. The food and drink is very good for all inclusive and I’m not sure if I could even think of anything to be missing. Children’s plates, cups and cutlery all provided and the cleanest high chairs I think I’ve ever seen. We went on plenty of coastal walks, either turning left or right from the hotel. Only 15 minutes to the beach with little legs walking too. The shop across the road also has everything you can think of so no need to over pack. The pool areas are great with the pirate ship slides, bouncy pillow and then the block pools for swimming. They do have some wear and tear with cracked tiles in the pools and around the pool walk ways but maintenance had already begun as the hotel was coming to the end of the season and nothing is of a danger to anyone or a hazard. The pools were very cold at the end of October but we took wet suits for the children and they didn’t complain at all. The park areas for the children were also great and welcomed for a change of scenery or to fill the gap between evening meal and mini disco. We have already looked at returning for a third visit next year as with 2 children under 6, it just has everything you could think of to keep them busy and the staff make you feel so relaxed which can be challenging when chasing the children around. I do hope the management of the Zafiro chain know what a credit their staff are to the company at the Menorca hotel. They have made some special memories for my children.
