Tripadvisor seems to indicate it’s a 5* hotel. It isn’t. It is currently 4*. Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure and temperature. Hotel grounds are very pleasant. Big - too big- portion sizes in restaurant. Excellent ciorba with mushrooms. Good wine. Quiet area. I chose this hotel to enjoy a bit of luxury. It was very, very disappointing. Arrival - very dirty doormat. No lift. Check in - receptionist scruffily dressed. She wrote the wifi details on a sheet of paper on the back of which were photocopies of three id cards. Data protection? Room - dark and cramped under the roof. Shower had no means to hold the shower nozzle. Bathroom very small. Bath towel small and thin. Do not go for a room on the top floor especially if you are tall. Carpet stained (bleach?). Broken radiator thermostat. The washstand in the bathroom was badly rusted and corroded with rust flaking off it in large pieces. Poor TV signal. Restaurant - night one - no duck available, night two - no fish available. I love papanaşi but the ones I had were so heavy, like large stodgy golf balls. Stop trying to be clever, just make good papanaşi the traditional way. Breakfast - uninspiring and uninspired buffet on the first morning. On the second morning there was no buffet but breakfast à la carte - I assume because there were so few people staying. I ordered muesli, toast snd croissants. For the muesli the waiter brought a bowl of raw porridge oats! No fruit, no nuts! I am not a horse. I told him it was not muesli. He said that was all they had. A few minutes later he came back with a bowl of real muesli. I appreciate that Romania has problems recruiting staff in HORECA but if you employ foreign staff with poor language skills - both English and Romanian - as well as little HORECA experience then you need to train them intensively. The muesli incident is a clear case of lack of knowledge and training.

Great location, just outside of Deva up in the hills, but not too far either. For those who live in crowded cities it’s a well deserved break from all the chaos and the polution! Breakfast is perfect, can’t ask for more; the staff is friendly! Rooms are nice, but the villa is amazing!! Can’t wait to be back!

I think we already came here like 4 times or more and we always had good experiences. Nice personnel, nice ground, good location, pool, nice restaurants, good products. We even got upgraded last time. Couldn’t find much negative. I can say probably it would need more isolation between the two suites as you feel every move of the one in Transylvania suite from the Maci.

This might have been a nice place once, but it isn’t anymore in 2023. Overall we had a bad experience, though nothing went extremely wrong. We just wouldn’t stay here anymore. Most photos are older or taken from a very good angle. Check out the Tripadvisor guest images. And if you see horses on the pictures: They are simply not there most of the time. They are in the stable all day, do not roam around like on the pictures and kids are not allowed in the stable. They only come out when the trainer is giving lessons - which is not every day, so we had to wait until the third day for a riding lesson. So our daughter was massively disappointed. Plus: The kids kept looking for the horses and the trainer scolded them for doing so. We booked the Family Xperience package and didn’t receive most of it. It included activities in the early morning and late evening with the horses for our daughter, none of which took place. The included horse riding lessons weren’t booked in advance, although we asked them to. The trainer had no idea about the bookings and switched the times. The bar/pool area is filled with loud Indian techno music most of the time. We asked them to change it multiple times and they kept putting it back on again. In our room, the air conditioning was leaking and as a result the carpet in front of the door was soaking wet. With high temperatures outside, there was no way to stay in the room except at night. The room had no proper shower. Our room was spacious, but so badly furnished that you had to sit on the floor or bed for any comfort. At the reception, most times you need to use a translation app, most of the staff does not speak English, at least not to an extent where they were able to answer your questions. If you want to take a walk in the area: large dogs roam the streets and protect their area. So we turned around. On the positive side: The food was good

Wonderful place, both indoors and outdoors. Professional and friendly staff, lots of things to do and great food! Let alone the interior design which is amazing. Suitable for both families and friends groups. Will definitely come back!
