Wat een leuke lokatie en wat een verschrikkelijk aardige gastvrouw. We verbleven hier weer nachten tijdens onze rondreis. Alleen al voor de gastvrijheid hadden we langer willen blijven. Het appartement is rustig gelegen. Parkeren moet verderop in. Het dorp. De straatjes zijn akelig smal. Je wilt daar eigenlijk helemaal niet rijden. Het appartement is van alles voorzien. Fijne airco zowel in de woonkamer als in de slaapkamer. Wij hebben alleen de in de woonkamer gebruikt. Was voldoende voor het hele appartement. Op loopafstand een heleboel restaurant ook daar is iedereen verschrikkelijk aardig.

A beautiful hotel with all the charm of a historical building and the comforts of modern design. Big rooms plus, comfortable common spaces inside and on two patios, artfully decorated. Our host, Gianandrea was so welcoming and helpful. Archanes is a charming town with excellent restaurants in the town square. Carpe Diem was a perfect stay after a day of touring neighboring Knossos. The cool mountain breeze offered a nice contrast to the hot beaches. We will have to return for more exploring of this majestic countryside with rolling hills, olive trees, and trees grape vines.

My husband and I stayed at Carpe Diem for 2 nights on our way through Arches. The space is beautiful, charming, and very clean. Our room was perfect with a great view of the lovely colorful & very quiet (walking only) street and the folklore museum in one side and the covered patio on the other. Our hosts were very kind and helpful - making great food and hiking recommendations. We felt very welcomed and would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is perfect- walking distance to the main square. Highly recommend.

Merveilleux séjour chez Eleni et GianAndrea. Nous sommes même revenues une dernière nuit pour clôturer nos vacances en Crète. La maison est aménagée avec beaucoup de style et l’hospitalité y est parfaite, ce qui en fait un lieu vraiment très chaleureux. Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough.
